Dan Brown and the Lost Symbol

Hi folks,

Have anyone read this book?

Putting aside the merit of the literature itself....

What do you think that claim that ancient people knew more than we do now? and that our current science is discovering that ancient wisdom.

I always found this claim to be bogus on the whole.

What say you folks?

The ancient knew nothing about Nuclear Fision.

They no doubt wanted to change lead into gold. Wanting and having the knowledge of nuclear fision are two different thing.

That was my point. You asked if current science was only rediscovering ancient knowledge. Awais suggested yes (the Antikythera gizmo). I used another example to point out that we have discovered a lot of things that ancient people did not know about. That includes a lot of things about astronomy too, which is what the Antikythera gizmo was designed for. It was a great piece of work for its time, but it's no match for the Hubble 'scope.

Its fiction based on poorly researched forgeries and more fiction.

Decent read though.
