    Anyone familiar with this group?

    http://www.ncusar.org/index.html

I somehow found myself on their e-mail list. I think I've been on it for some time but mostly just ignore the e-mails as I'm on a lot of political and labor-related lists, cause a lot of assholes out there think it's okay to add you to various lists they think you'd be interested in without your permission-- but today I got one with a subject line about Yemen, and, for whatever reason, decided to actually click on this e-mail.

Seems to be composed of members of the American diplomatic elite, military establishment, and other such high-credentialed foreign policy wonks. Just wondering if anyone's encountered this group before and knows what their "line" is, I mean, beyond the very general claims of fostering understanding between the Arab world and the US through high-falootin' academic seminars.

EDIT: Uh-oh, just looked on this section of their website and saw the corporate sponsors of one of their recent conferences-- http://www.ncusar.org/programs/auspc.html-- I think I've got a pretty good idea of what their "line" is now without needing to read more.

    fuck you
