Re: People Don't Need Religion Now!

I was thinking about this the other day. There are two main aspects to most religions, the metaphysical and the political. When I say political, I don't necessarilly mean political as in political systems like Shariah, but I mean laws, code of conduct, good and bad etc.
Anyway, what I was thinking was in the modern world, the metaphysical and the political have separated. We don't need the metaphysical anymore because we now have a much better understanding of the universe than we had when these religions came about. This leaves only the political, and for this we have modern political systems such as capitalism, socialism dictatorships etc.
In short, what I am saying is that we still have the two main aspects of religion without a need to believe in a personal God.
I hope that makes sense and I am not talking bullshit!
