Moscow's pretty diverse. Besides, over there it's all about money and knowing the right people-- you got those two down and your skin color won't be much of an issue.

Yeah, just don't say that to anyone is Russia, or especially Poland and you'll be fine.

I remember going to a party where there were some Russians, Poles and Czechs (although it was mostly Germans and Americans there) and it didn't take but 20 minutes for the Poles and Czechs to get in a shouting match with the Russians over the Soviet oppression of their country. The Czech brothers were invited by me, so I had to kick them out, as they instigated the whole thing and they were kinda boneheads-- they made the Festrunk brothers look like reserved intellectuals.

Yeah, that went down about as well as when I started defending the Bosnians at a party full of Croatian immigrants in LA.

Never expected that to happen LOL. Thats the thing about us Slavs, so many of us, but we all bicker and fight. Have you met a Bosnian before? I didn't yet. Are they practicing Muslims?

Yeah, I used to know a lot of Bosnians back in Boston. Pretty big Bosnian immigrant community there. They call themselves Muslim, most don't eat pork, and a lot have names like Mohammed, but the ones I knew drink often without any shame, regularly have pre-marital sex, men and women mix freely, and I've never met a Bosnian chick who wears hijab. So, in short, of the Bosnians I knew most would be considered "cultural Muslims" but were about as secular as it gets in most respects.

We keep hearing about how Jack Straw or the French government have mentioned the veil and our doing so puts us in the same boat as them. How so? I want a ban on the burka, neqab and child veiling.
