I remember walking through a packed Cairo street and heard a guy behind me shouting "Ya Amar! Ya Amar!"
I turned around and saw a little old guy struggling to pull a cart heavily over filled with vegetables.
He was telling me to get out the way - but in a kind funny way - Amar (Qamar) means Moon (also in the sense of "Boss" but sarcastic) lol

I'm half Egyptian half English - born and brought up in the UK. I can speak, read and write classical Arabic which I studied - I can also get by in Egyptian dialect
People here are a real mix, we have some from just about every place in the Muslim world.

Damn, lots of Saudis on this forum, which is nice
Well I was a convert. I'm Eastern European, which spices up this forum quite a bit
More variety, you know what I mean?
Plus many ex muslims on this forum are from South Asia.

I think that there would be more if there was an Arabic forum since many don't speak great English. If you noticed half of the Saudis here (don't know the other two), live "outside".

Haven't really lived there for long about less than 3 years. The rest of my life of life outside, in Europe and some parts of Asia.
Oh, can't write in Arabic either, my spelling is appalling.

I'm ابو علي (Abu Ali) on that forum, it's very good, especially for some very informative posts - but frankly it doesn't have the friendly cozy feeling of this forum - and they are pretty finicky with all their rules. Not really a place to chat and chill like this forum.
