  • Asylum Guidelines on Apostasy
     OP - April 30, 2010, 10:01 AM

    From Maryam Namazie:

Hope all is well with you.

Next time you go into the forum can you please put this request from us:

We are now in the process of developing asylum guidelines on apostasy. In it
we'd like to have sections on all the countries which have apostasy laws or
where there is a possibility of persecution even if not via the state but
    from non-state actors.

Since some on of you may have applied for asylum and collected country
specific information for you own cases, could you please forward that to the
CEMB so we can make sure we have all the main points covered?

Also if anyone is interested in helping to write the guidelines, contact
    maryam.

    Thanks

Maryam you are doing a fantastic job. Thanks Hassan for putting this up, and yes bring in some law against re-repatriation of apostates to States where they (apostates) are persecuted. If you need a petition I shall sign up on it, you have my full support. Good luck with the gathering of info and writing of the CEMB manifesto amendment or whatever it is that you are doing. Wish you guys so much luck.

Great idea. I think it would serve as a great wakeup call if places like Pakistan saw Religious Asylum seakers get put to the front of the immigration lines.

Those reading this thread might also want to see what the CEMB has drafted so far regarding guidelines for Apostates - as well as guidelines for Frontline Services (Police, Soc. Services etc...) on how to handle Apostates that they come into contact with:

    See this thread:

Technically, those who commit Blasphemy can face various punishments. Apostasy as of has no mention or punishment in Pakistani law. But given how minorities are treated in Pakistan, its still considerable to leave Pakistan ASAP.

I have been trying for last 2-3 years myself

Pakistan Zindabad? ya Pakistan sey Zinda bhaag?

Long Live Pakistan? Or run with your lives from Pakistan?

Helloooooo Ayaz., welcome  friend and where from are you visiting cemb??

Ayaz Pakistan with its over jealous Islamic population traveled down to 7th century times and it is living with  7th century . Prophet Muhammad(PBUH's) times rubbish in 21st century.   So one step a time., I am sure you realize that article  in that BBC is talking about INSULTING PROPHET/QURAN/ISLAM AND PENALTIES FOR THAT

That is different from Apostasy., I hope the floor gets injected with new bill in a proper format. it only have to have few sentences With a guarantee that STATE WILL PROTECT EVERY CITIZEN IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR RELIGIONS or a person moving from one religion to another or becoming an atheist..

Moving from one religion to another is different from Insulting Islam its scriptures and its revered personalities

    with best wishes

Then, why don't you try forming a Club of Murtads in Pakistan?  You can use blogger.com for free website hosting.  This is how we run Club of Murtads in Malaysia.

After you have visited the website above, try to give us feedback.
