I just went back and re-read that article on that Ahmadiyya site, and I am just amazed at how much intellectual dishonesty dawagandists, religious evangelists, Muslim ones here in particular, will engage in. Anything good and sensible, the narrative is "well it is actually from allah too, it just got corrupted and now islam is its best manifestation." It's rather insulting to the thousands of years of history, thought, and discoveries of the ancient chinese, indian, and other peoples, who, when not forced to convert, are basically patted like they're the retards of history who "corrupted" words of allah because of their retardedness.

A learned taoist or buddhist probably wouldn't care, but as an ex-muslim, I find this arrogance to be really problematic.

It extends, as I said before, to modernism and the achievments of modern secular liberal democracy - hell, democracy itself is described as an Islamic concept, scientific method, feminism, all of that, all seeded or 'contained' by Islam!

And as much as I have utmost sympathy for Ahmaddiya for the persecution they experience, their dawah really is no different to that of mainstream Islam when it comes to bullshitting for Allah and turning everything into Islam for the sake of propaganda.

Yeah the Ahmadi scholar who wrote this book is a testament to how progressive the Ahmadiyyas actually are, within Islam. But yes, I find there is a lot of proselytizing by Ahmadis, especially online, especially in liberal circles, sites and groups. It's like they have to spread Islam and be even more identified with it, maybe because most other Muslims consider them Kafir.

Anyway, it's still so arrogant and humiliating how everything must become part of that narrative of "it's all from/about allah, he just let non-muslim retards corrupt his stuff for thousands of years". no

Is it the same as Daoism? At least I think it might be the same thing I heard of it in my modern Asian civilization class. It's a interesting belief system same goes for Confusism which I also learn a bit about.

Hmm...I'll read that Tao book seems interesting.

Me neither, i dont agree nor on board with the ineffable and mysterious aspect of Tao since the figure is almost the same as Allah, here is the link that points out the similarities between Allah/God and Tao

Taoist ideas have pretty much nothing in common with theism. Alan Watts puts it well when he says Tao is "the total system of interdependence" rather than a system with purpose, and universe is a "mutual arising" system rather than a created system or the result of a chain of events.

Allah is conveniently seen as a personal, anthropomorphic father figure entity by Muslims but probe too much and he magically becomes a transcendent/immanent genderless formless panentheistic energy, to please the mystics, the sufis, the hindus and pagans that are needed to be converted. That 2nd type is incompatible with the 1st type because of the rituals that a personal god NEEDS and DEMANDS. A personal god NEEDS you worship him. He will put you in hell if you don't believe in him or worship him or follow his rules. Like a crazy abusive parent. A shimmery energy that runs through everything like the Tao is not a person, not a personal entity that demands anything. It just is, it doesn't matter to IT what you believe or what you do because IT is NOT a "personal" "god".
