I'd have still passed out even with food lol. I cant handle my drink. I'm too afraid to try absinthe

Tempted though, but I wont be having it neat, cant stand neat stuff. Might try it with sugarcubes (I think that's how you're meant to have it).
It's not really designed for neat drinking. The louche produced when water is added (similar to ouzo) is intended to allow the herbal flavours to gain prominence. Traditionally this is done by dripping very cold water through a sugar cube (I like the drink this method produces). The popular method generally seen in movies is to pour absinthe into the glass over a sugar cube, light the sugar cube so that it melts into the absinthe and then quickly extinguish the now alight drink with some cold water. I like absinthe but find it's one of those drinks I have to be in the mood for, probably due to it's complexity and herby character.
