USA beat England 1-0 in the 1950 World Cup.

It was such an embarrassing scoreline that when one newspaper in England received a wire of the score, they thought the 0-1 loss was a missprint and they instead said England beat USA 10-1.

Now given USA is in a group with England, Algeria, and Slovenia I expect England to go through with relative ease but any of the other three teams are capable of getting second spot.

I will definately be glued to my tv, cant wait for the first match but i am also scared of argentina as we will be playing them first!!!

Soccer (okay, football) is not as big here in Australia, hence why our football team probably won't get far (this is according to a friend). Soccer is catching on a lot, especially amongst younger people. Anyway, I'd probably go for Germany. Or the Netherlands, purely because a Dutch friend is trying to get me into it.

I'm probably gonna miss the final 'cause I'll be in the US by then and they don't give a crap about football, but I'll definitely catch whatever I can, especially if France is playing!

Apparently Arjen Robben is also a doubt after limping off against Hungary - whom the Dutch beat 6-1.
