I do believe I bought my boyfriend a pack of this very beer (I'll need to ask him if it's the same). It wasn't bad, for beer. Well, of course, it was the cherry taste that made it bearable. Surprisingly cheap, too.

Actually, Lindeman's Kriek is actually a lambic while the stuff I bought was just cherry-flavored regular beer (lager I think). The Kriek has a much stronger cherry flavor, Lindeman's is pretty sweet too. The stuff I bought had a fairly mild cherry flavored head, but an aftertaste that was more akin to regular lager.

Well, oatmeal stouts are very different from cream stouts so... Or at least the one oatmeal stout I've had. Can't get that stuff easily in here. Our alcohol distribution is heavily regulated and taxed. Haven't had this particular type.

Few good beers out there. Prefer wine myself. Only red as white and rose are abominations and those who drink them need to be tarred and feathered. grin12

There is no better Southern Lager.

btw BD I forgot to ask what you thought of the Old Hooky and Guinness?

Old Hooky is a real English ale - the sort I prefer.

Guinness is fine when there's no real ale but it is definitely more of an acquired taste and my guess is you didn't like it much?

Hassan, what are the dark, earthy ales called? Do you know what I mean and do you like them? I tried one once thinking it would be horrible but I actually thought it was quite nice.

    You mean Stout?

They are similar to Guinness, they're OK, but I prefer Light Ales.

EDIT: Or do you mean Brown Ale? i.e. Newcastle Brown - and some are darker than that (i.e. McEwan's). They're OK.

Basically all of the above is better than lager - and any European beers.

    Yep - thought so.

Old Hooky is typical of Real English Ale - though they are much better draught than bottled.

I don't mean stout or brown ale. It had a specific name and it actually tasted a bit like mud but was quite nice. I just cant remember what it was called.
