As to being born a girl in Afghanistan, perhaps these unfortunate souls were very bad people in their previous lives and therefore are having their karma meted out to them in their current lifetimes in the form of being a female in the anti-woman society of Afghanistan. I'm not saying that these poor girls deserve the ill treatment they are subjected to but that there is some higher, karmic purpose as to why they were born as who they are and where they are. Needless to say, the men who mete out such harsh treatment to these poor girls will get theirs whether it is in this lifetime or the next or even in several lifetimes.
From what i've read ther'es 4 types of karma, sanchita, which is accrued from all previous lives, prarabdha, the portion of total karmic backlog to be played out in our present lifetime, kriyaman, fresh karam produced in this lifetime and agama karma produced by thoughts yet to have acted on.
I don't look at (for example a handicapped person) and say they've done some terrible things in a past life. I don't know anyone who would do ( except perhaps for Glenn Hoddle!) It's entirely possible to have group karma, impacting on personal karma.
I am surprised you need to ask, but below are a few examples of why I would prefer to remain dead :
In regards to the reborn as an Afghan girl. there's bad thing everywhere. are you saying that there is not one Afghani man who loves his daughter entirely, who cares for her, respects her and loves her? Not one?
