As to being born a girl in Afghanistan, perhaps these unfortunate souls were very bad people in their previous lives and therefore are having their karma meted out to them in their current lifetimes in the form of being a female in the anti-woman society of Afghanistan.  I'm not saying that these poor girls deserve the ill treatment they are subjected to but that there is some higher, karmic purpose as to why they were born as who they are and where they are.  Needless to say, the men who mete out such harsh treatment to these poor girls will get theirs whether it is in this lifetime or the next or even in several lifetimes.

From what i've read ther'es 4 types of karma, sanchita, which is accrued from all previous lives, prarabdha, the portion of total karmic backlog to be played out in our present lifetime, kriyaman, fresh karam produced in this lifetime and agama karma produced by thoughts yet to have acted on.

I don't look at (for example a handicapped person) and say they've done some terrible things in a past life. I don't know anyone who would do ( except perhaps for Glenn Hoddle!)  It's entirely possible to have group karma, impacting on personal karma.

I am surprised you need to ask, but below are a few examples of why I would prefer to remain dead :

In regards to the reborn as an Afghan girl. there's bad thing everywhere. are you saying that there is not one Afghani man who loves his daughter entirely, who cares for her, respects her and loves her? Not one?

    Nour: you're a Buddhist I take it?

Very interesting thoughts I must say. Awais once recommended that I read Ikkyu (he said you recommended it).

No, I am not a Buddhist.  I don't follow ANY religion.  I follow my heart and gut instinct.

    Did you read the comic?

I remember reading the comic over 20 years ago. I forgot most of the story, so i watched the webcomic ( downloaded it) which was essentially an animated comic which was about 5 hours of viewing time. after that i kinda od on watching anymore so i was reluctant to watch the movie. A couple of months ago i did watch the movie, and im glad i did, i think it worked sans giant squid very well. I loved the title sequence with the bob dylan track, it was perfectly done.

I found the mock saturday cartoon pastiche hilarious, even moreso if you listen to the lyrics knowing the story

Yes, that was ace!  I picked up on how the lyrics were used in one of Veidt's ad campaigns within the comic.

    Maybe THIS is the afterlife.

    Why not? :O

Do you think there will not be a life after our death? Or there will be a life but not according to the religions? Or what do you think about that?

Regardless to the complex theories of the universe and the existence.  Smiley

If you can believe in the concept of a cosmic consciousness where we all end up, I have admitted to a one time contact with it.
I have no proof to offer you though. There is none for this kind of ----in the spirit --  contact.
People today do not believe in the possibility of apotheosis or rapprochement to God and especially in this type of site, I do not expect any to believe it and just so you all know, I have already been labeled with many colorful names so let's not clutter this mans thread with remaks that I have already heard and ignored.
    Please.

So to answer your question directly, yes, we all have an afterlife. can I prove it? No.

I'm quite sure there is an afterlife. I read a lot about the subject and watch lots of videos. These are two books I read long time ago when I was 14 and are still the best "At the hour of death" (what people have experience at their deathbed, near death experiences, out of body experiences) and Life after life ( mostly near death experiences). Many people had visions before they've died, angels, paradise or hell, or demons. I think everything was energy and is energy before coming into a physical manifestation, everything came from light and will go back to light. We are energy, when we'll die, our body will die but our conscious will still go on. Because though we all are endowed with the same physical bits, muscles, organs, veins...there is also a spiritual part of us that we dont see and which is different, our mind: personality, ideas, opinions,  And the most important thing is that "we will die the way we lived", so if you did good you'll go to your conscious paradise and if did bad you will go to your conscious hell. (people from different background beliefs, after a near death experience, or after a clinical death (death experience) have experienced either a hell or a heaven) Anyway here are some videos

by the way watch out!, I've saw many vids of people who claimed they've been to hell during a near death experience

is there a good reason not to?
as far as I can see there is an equal amount of evidence both for and against an afterlife - none

I was initially gonna make a glib comment but I rather be sincere. People claim a lot of things. They claim UFO's and Sasquatches. They claim they can get you thin with this:

This man claimed he could make you rich:

This man claimed he could save your soul:

People's claims don't always hold water. We often want a lot of things to be true - doesn't make them true.

Do you mean that people claiming that they've experienced hell or heaven or just had random out of body experiences during a near death experience, is fake, or do you mean that people who have experienced hell is fake?

well this is a very well known phenomena more than the UFO one and what you've posted, those people who claim certain things are just the only ones, or is just propaganda, a way to make money. And the people who have seen aliens what ever,,,they've seen them during sleep paralysis, sleep paralysis is very common also and during the experience you can suffer all sort of hallucinations, usually they see demons,,,but they see other stuff as well, or the aliens they see are the spirits which take forms of aliens (Jinn, can take physical form)

I never said their experiences are fake. I just don't believe in their claims. The evidence is not compelling.

I think the whole idea of an afterlife is bullshit.

I like to think of death as the breakdown of subjectivity and being joined with the universe once again. The idea of "me" (as in my personality, likes/dislikes, and emotions) surviving my death seems completely implausible.

i think this the tragedy of the human being, we are conscious that at the end we are going to die, and this is extremely frightening fact !!!!, that's why religion make sense in this regard, it has a comforting narrative,  i just wished if it was true.
