  • Zakir Naik is coming to Sheffield and Wembley Arena
     OP - May 24, 2010, 02:05 AM

That's right.  He managed to secure his visit visa in order to come here and spread the message of Islam.
    http://www.apc2010.org/

The event is entitled "Al-Khair Peace Convention 2010" and will take place on:

Friday 25th June at Sheffield Arena
Saturday 26th June at Wembley Arena

The focus of the event will be:

    • To create a better awareness and understanding of Islam and its message of peace for the entire humanity, in an objective way. Roll Eyes

    • To remove misconceptions, false fear and hate of Islam and Muslims globally. Roll Eyes

    • To realize that Islam is a just, righteous and peaceful way of life, with due care for human rights and moral values. Roll Eyes

hm, I think he's gonna have to engage in a lot of lying and deception if he wants to convince people of the above, but he does that anyway.

The last time he was touring the UK was in 2006 and Welsh MP David Davies objected to his appearance in Cardiff.  See here, here and here.

I say we contact the Home Office and make them turn him away at Customs (Geert Wilders style).  yes

Have a look at this stupid Zakir Naik propaganda video.

You will clearly see how evil the non-Muslim lifestyle is, and how oh-so-peaceful it would be if you became Muslim.  grin12

Rather than trying to be clever and giving him the opportunity to bedazzle the audience with bullshit I think I'd just ask a simple question.

"What is the punishment for people who become Muslim but later decide they don't want to be one?"

Hopefully someone will ask him why he thinks 9/11 wasn't perpetrated by Saudi terrorists, but by some nebulous conspiracy to defame Islam.

Also, how does he expect people to think Islam is a tolerant and amiable religion when he has dedicated his life to preaching the inferiority of all non Muslims and that their salvation from Islamic torture in an imaginary afterlife is the reason he extends the 'invitation' to infidels.

That would involve him being exposed to sceptical questioners though, and there's as much chance of that happening as there is of the moon splitting in two.

Everytime I hear see Islam and peace in the same sentence it makes me giggle.

I don't think we should petition to get him banned from entering UK, it will just make him more popular with the muslims.   He should come here, and I think a few ex-muslims should go along and ask him random difficult questions.  Let's see how he deals with that!

From the front page of the conference website:

    Quote
Peace, internal and external be it on an 'individual' or at a 'worldwide collective' level is a must for effective human progress and realistic global unity.

This is very interesting, because it represents the kind of double-speak that dawah merchants (dawa-gandists!) engage in.

First of all, invoking the word 'Peace' all the time, standard dawah practise.

The Religion of Peace, Islam means Peace, etc etc.

But what this really means is:

"Peace, internal and external be it on an 'individual' or at a 'worldwide collective' level"

translation: Peace is Islam and Islam is peace. Peace can only be achieved on an individual and collective basis through submission to Islam. Islam not only brings peace to the individual, it brings peace to societies, by unifying them under Islam, and cleansing all kuffar evil. Hence, there is war until Islam is supreme and dominant. When that is achieved, there will be peace.

"is a must for effective human progress and realistic global unity"

Translation - Human civilisation will never progress and will always be in a state of jahiliya until it submits collectively to Islam, which means Peace, and peace can only be reached through the domination and completion of the Ummah - when all non Islamic belief systems are wiped off the planet, only then will there be 'global unity' and peace on earth.

Of course, this contains the central dawah misrepresentation about Islam meaning 'Peace' when it actually means 'Submission', but 'Peace' sounds better because you have to tailor the message to the audience, and if you come proclaiming yourself as believers in Peace, how can anyone criticise you?

Anyway, Zakir Naik wants to destroy all the misunderstandings people have about Islam - but when you understand what he is saying, it really does become apparent how creepy and sinister, nasty and intolerant his message is.

Next up I'l write about the cognitive dissonance revealed in these messages of Naik's.

I agree, he should be allowed in the country, and he should get a dose of scrutiny, the likes of which he has never experienced before. This guy has got loads of stuff on himself - denying 9/11, stating it was a set up to defame Islam, loads of stuff. He should be asked about that, the newspapers should have a field day with him.

    OK, so here's the thing.

To most people, Naik seems creepy, furtive, intolerant, fanatical, and a liar. But here is the thing. He honestly believes in this garbage. In his mind, he truly believes that humanity cannot progress until it collectively accepts Islam.

He truly believes that all of the social, moral, scientific, artistic progress that have been made by humanity over the last few hundred years (and its not just a 'western' thing, it includes all the progress made in his homeland of India too) is worthless, meaningless, a mirage, not progress at all, but an impediment to the true progress of humanity - the destiny of man - submission to Islam.

I mean, this is delusion on the highest level of delusion. But it is delusion all the same, and as creepy, stupid, sinister, and bigoted as it is, Naik truly believes that he is a doctor administering a vaccine to a child, doing what is good for all, knowing the better, higher purpose and law.

Hence the corrective intent of these conferences. To clear up 'misconceptions' about Islam (by repeating the very things that make people dislike or be wary of Islam)

What a dilemma this is for him and his kind. The very thing that you assert as the proof and superiority of Islam, is what is at the root of all that is wrong with Islam, and all that makes people look at Islam with disdain. How to square this contradictory circle? One way, is to cloak Islam in rhetoric about 'peace' and 'progress', in order to at least try to make it palatable upon first appearence. The rest of it is about talking louder than people, talking fast, to use all the stock methods of the snake oil salesman, and by preaching to those as deluded as yourself, so that you can be happy in the illusions that you share, as the rest of the world moves on, pausing for a micro-second to laugh at your absurdity, then carrying on, making progress, making love, making the future.

    Question:
Do homosexuals go to hell unless they accept Islam?
Do adulterers go to hell unless they accept Islam?
Do polytheists go to hell unless they accept Islam?
So, are you therefore saying that the only way to bring peace to this planet is for everyone to adopt the beliefs of this highly intolerant religion?

I wouldn't use that one, I'm just having some fun Smiley

I have no problems with him coming over and making his speeches. The people here, including moderate Muslims, will see Islamic tenets exposed first hand and I would hope they can form their own opinions rather than buy into it. Hmm ...

If you could participate in the Questions & Answers session, what kinda awkward questions would you ask Zakir Naik?

    I would say:

Zakir, why do you refuse to state your opinion of Bin Laden because you haven't met him, but you're quick to state your opinion of other people you haven't met too?  Like George Bush.

Zakir, do you think it is ok for a 52 year old man to have sex with a 9 year old?

Zakir, you spend your life trying to convert non-Muslims to Islam, and you encourage them to spread Islam too.  What does Islam say about Muslims who convert to another religion and spread their new religion?

Zakir, the earth is not egg-shaped.  So why do you say that it is?

    I would ask....

Quran 39:5 - Says that the orbit of the Sun and Moon have been made of service to us.  We use the Moon to count months, what service is the orbit of the Sun which takes 225 million years to complete?

    Or I might ask...

Medical research in the USA showed that girls under the age of 14 are twice as likely to experience a miscarriage.  Why would Allah let Muhammad have sex with a 9 year old girl knowing that his actions would be seen as Halal for all people for all time, and then make little girls suffer miscarriages? Why was Allah not aware of this simple medical fact that he himself is responsible for being true?

    Or I might ask...

Do you have testicles under that mass of pubes on your face?
