I knew a woman who converted to islam. I don`t want to generalize this, but that particular woman was just rather uneducated, and very capable of being influenced.

When i spoke to her she sounded like a zombie - just repeating dawa nonsense and i was obviously not really able to reach her with my words. Like a person which was on drugs. She then quickly married a muslim guy and got pregnant never went out without hijab.

I think for her islam was a way to get an easier life. She didn`t have to worry about education or work any more - she only had to submit to her husband (and allah) and obey religious rules. I guess, such strict rules might me quite attractive to a person like her.

But as i said: thats just my observation of that particular woman and not meant as a general insult to all converts.

I think its becuase they realise Islam is good for women, and that it is the truth!

Only joking, I dont have blind faith in that either. I'm agnostic, I try not to make claims about something I couldnt possibly know.

The only thing I do know is that Islam is manmade, there is plenty of evidence imo to prove that, not lease because of the scientific faux pas and the contradictions.

I can only put it down to cognitive dissonance, or you not having looked hard enough. Read my blog if you really are that open-minded, there is a lot there that you need to provide answers too before you can convince me.

From reading it, I hope you will see how much I looked into it and it was not just a flight of fancy to justify a life of seediness as some muslims would have you believe.

P.S My life is far from seedy, although I wouldnt mind if it was!

Not even the fact that the quran was put together 70 years after the prophet died? Thats quite a long time for inaccuracies to seep in. Do you have any proof that Christianity/Judaism/Scientology/Any other religion is man made either? They all claim the same thing you do.
BTW the burden of proof is with YOU that the quran is divinely inspired, not on others to prove it isn't.

Anyhow, the reason women are generally more religious (hence more likely to "re"vert) is because they are more emotional/attached to family etc.
Men are somwhat more rational. No sexism here, just plain empirically observed facts.

I think they convert for a few reasons such as:

they fall in love with muslims guys, as there are many here in britain and everywhere now. Check this in youtube

,the muslims population is growing not due to converts but because (original muslim inmigrants makes lots of babies, more than european families)....and so there are many muslims guys, they fall in love with them and women are more crazy than men when they fall in love, they give everything...they are more passionate....well that is one thing, and also due to the Islamic new tv and radio programmes, all the propaganda out there, makes curious people wanna know.....and then women are much easier to harrass, than a male, male muslims feel less intimidated when triying to convince a woman that a man, and bit by bit, by brainwashing and spitting out to these pour women the threats of hell, it creates a psychological effect on them, a fear that doesn't leave for any rationality that causes them to submitt without questioning....and the end!
