Meh, he doesn't care. Actually my whole family is rooting for them. My mum thinks Poland doesn't deserve to be in FIFA lol, plus, both my mum and dad are 1/4 German

Can you people please stop calling it FIFA? FIFA is a video game, and FIFA is the international football federation, but this very tournament is called the World Cup.

Portugal's Nani will miss the World Cup because of injury.

Damn I really wanted to see this fellow set the world alight after doing so well for Man United this year.  Cry

This World Cup has been ruined by injuries to key players before it even began! Ballack, Essien, Rio Ferdinand, Beckham, Nani etc all out, with the likes of Robben, Torres, Pirlo etc still highly doubtful for even the first game.

    Overrated.

Also, I'm totally missing the opening tomorrow. My genius of a coworker picked that day to get married. Oh well, at least I'll still be able to watch France get buttraped by Uruguay so I can make fun of my managers.

Don't want to lower the tone of this thread that is all about the only true religion - FOOTBALL and the joy and celebration of it. I was watching a World Cup programme on BBC 3 last night and they mentioned this Saudi footballer, Saeed Al Owairan, who scored this goal in USA 1994:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdg2veLiE1I&feature=related

Wonder goal. One of the great solo World Cup goals. Anyway, so they were talking about where did he go, how come he dissapeared from the football scene and nobody ever heard of him afterwards. It turns out that he was imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for six months, despite becoming a hero amongst the common people for that goal, after he was caught drinking alcohol with a western woman. Horrible Saudis.

Also, don't watch the World Cup or any football game. A man has to cover his 'awra and so his pants must go down to his knees.
