    And MRasheed, I checked out that psychedelic drugs researcher's website, on which I found this:

    It is in response to his request that I include highly speculative ideas and my own personal motivations for performing this research.

    Nor would I be honest if I did not share my own speculations and theories based upon decades of study, and listening to hundreds of DMT sessions.

    I don't think this gentleman considers his work as some kind of QED proof of the existence of the supernatural.

    I know a lot of women who have sex, and have had sex during the menses.  They all say that 1.) it stops while they are having sex and   2.) they cramp very badly afterward.  To me that means to friggin' do as their Guardian Lord commanded before they injure themselves.  Give Him the benefit of the doubt that He knows what He's talking about considering He made the d@mned thing.

    I often wonder this too, but not just with Rasheed.  The answer is that they are all able to see past it, so they either form cognitive dissonance around it (e.g. this is what faith is) or to protect themselves just quote verbatum from the Quran on the assumption that its correct and thus provides you with the answer your looking for, even if it makes little sense to them.

    No.  There are clearly certain things in our society that He left for us to work out among ourselves.  There are things that are truly evil to Him and He commanded against them.  Everything else He left for us to use our best judgment on using our understanding of His guidance from Scripture.

    Considering no other leader from before Him managed to put two-and-two together the way you're implying, I think it's obvious that we did need God to say something (wait... aren't you meatheads arguing for it too???  lol).

    Sorry, I got it wrong.  The Quran only says a messenger was sent to every group of people during all time.  The actual figure quoted is from the weak hadith.  However I dont think that this changes the premise of my original post so it still holds true.

    Of course you should use it!  But give Him the benefit of the doubt that He knows what He is talking about.  Use the concept of "No god but the One God" as a mathematical truth in it (like '0' in math or something.)

    You know, it's funny that Allah never said menstruating women shouldn't have intercourse because they'll get cramps. He said that men shouldn't go near women because it's 'unclean.'

    You'll catch period-disease if you go near menstruating women!!

    I don't understand what you mean? It's in the Judeo-Christian tradition as well. Of course if I told you why it was seen as filthy you wouldn't believe me and would go "ah those crazy Europeans with their polemics and Orientalism"
