    - 30 stood up for the girl (about 5 filmed)
    - 6 did not (2 of which filmed)
    - 22 did nothing

13 not 30. He says it at 5:58. Plus 22 people didn't say anything. My guess is most of them were on the side on the bakery owner.

And like Q-Man said, I posted this not to suggest that anti-Muslim bigotry is rampant* in America but to show him it exists. Remember he suggested that "there are no/very few cases" of racism against Muslims in America.

*Although I could argue (and back it up with links) that anti-Muslim bigotry on the rise in America and that it is slowly becoming somewhat OK to collectively criticize Muslims and express bigotry against them. But I'm lazy !

Of course Zakir Naik should have been banned, free speech does not mean that you can go around saying the sort of things this man does.

Even if he had got in or does in the future there is no way that we would have allowed him to speak, nor will we allow others like him in the future.
    Good riddence I say.

It always starts from banning the radicals, then it moves on to other things.  Let him waffle I say, and then let him do it in front of a different audience than the one he is used to.

"Modern man's great illusion has been to convince himself that of all that has gone before he represents the zenith of human accomplishment, but can't summon the mental powers to read anything more demanding than emoticons. Fascinating. "

Unfortunately these roadshows are done on his terms not yours.  He wont do it to any other audience than the ones who come in wearing fleece and go "Baa Baa" in the night.

He shoot himself in the foot when he didn't stand for human rights, when he was OK with executions, when he didn't stand against terrorism and so on. It's his fault, nobody would mind the rest but this aggressive attitude will not be accepted by the mainstream anymore. Nobody buys it.

And him trying to wrap it around in obscurity is pathetic, he's insulting the intelligence of people. As if we can't read between the lines.

I think this sends out a deeper message that just one person being banned from entering.

Even if we dont agree with Zakir Naiks views, I think most of us here would say he's being honest  & represents true Islam.  If anything he doesnt go far enough.

And by the UK government not even allowing him to set foot in the UK, well I think its a pretty damning verdict on Islam.

    Thanks IsLame for the article:

    Here is a synopsis:

If you're looking for a snapshot of India's hapless response to radical Islam, then look no further than Bombay-based cleric Dr. Zakir Naik. In India, the 44-year-old Dr. Naik—a medical doctor by training and a televangelist by vocation—is a widely respected figure, feted by newspapers and gushed over by television anchors. The British, however, want no part of him. On Friday, the newly elected Conservative-led government announced that it would not allow Dr. Naik to enter Britain to deliver a series of lectures. According to Home Secretary Theresa May, the televangelist has made "numerous comments" that are evidence of his "unacceptable behavior."

The good doctor's views run the gamut from nutty to vile, so it's hard to pinpoint which of them has landed him in trouble. For instance, though Dr. Naik has condemned terrorism, at times he also appears to condone it. "If he [Osama bin Laden] is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him," he said in a widely watched 2007 YouTube diatribe. "If he is terrorizing the terrorists, if he is terrorizing America the terrorist, the biggest terrorist, I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist."

Dr. Naik recommends the death penalty for homosexuals and for apostasy from the faith, which he likens to wartime treason. He calls for India to be ruled by the medieval tenets of Shariah law. He supports a ban on the construction of non-Muslim places of worship in Muslim lands and the Taliban's bombing of the Bamiyan Buddhas. He says revealing clothes make Western women "more susceptible to rape." Not surprisingly, Dr. Naik believes that Jews "control America" and are the "strongest in enmity to Muslims."

So he says he's going to challenge the decision and he'll hired the best firms of lawyers in the UK.

Is there any way we can help the High Court to keep this idiot out?  Let's be honest, people on this forum probably know more about Zakir Naik than the lawyers or member of the Home Office.

Can we send clips of Zakir Naik saying odious things to anyone as evidence?

Dont be daft - if its going to the high court, both set of lawyers will see all of the stuff on youtube and more

Thanks for the vid.  Naik claims Peace TV is the most popular satellite channel in the world, and his programmes is the most popular one on there?

Is that true, are its figures bigger than Sky or MTV Huh?

But how do we know they're seeing ALL of the stuff?  What if they miss some videos in which he says something questionable?

Can we also mention that his Peace TV and Islamic Research Foundation have many Imams who preach that apostates (even Ahmadiyya Muslims) should be killed?  Dr Israr Ahmed (who passed away this year) worked very closely with Zakir Naik on his Peace TV channel and here he is preaching death to apostates:

I found the quote, I just need to find the video:

The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say "you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife." If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs. We Indians look upon America to be very advanced and sophisticated. Whatever they do, we follow after a few years. According to an article in Island magazine, this practice of swapping wives has become common in the affluent circles of Bombay.

Seriously I'm glad Naik has been refused entry. Now all the Muslims are asking questions, "Why is Dear Uncle Zakir Naik from Peace TV not allowed into the UK?" Then they find out why when they see him saying "Apostates should be killed yo". Hmmm, ok, game over.
