Even though I don't agree with Zakir on many levels I think banning him is not a good idea, that just tells how tolerant these people are, why would u ban him ?

    I am strictly against this.

As a British citizen, I am offended that my Government thinks I cannot handle Zakir Naik. That's what pisses me off most, thinking we need some kind of protection from Zakir Naik.

Saying that apostates should be killed, and that he supports Osama Bin Ladin probably didn't go down too well on his application form Smiley

@TheRationalizer: All respect to you, you are a smart person but u r wrong on this one, just becuase he said that he didn't do anything and there is no sign that he will do anything like that, there are thousands of Racist Bigots walking thre streets of London with Nazi Ideologies from Nazi Germany and no one is doing anything about it, they can even gather and discuss shit and everything and me and u know that they are not planning to invite the Jews on a dinner, they are pretty much as fucked up as Zakir if not worse.

I don't understand what you mean by "just because he said that he didn't do anything"

And he has said those things, I have seen the videos.

@ TheRationalizer: He has said those things sure but they are sanctioning him why don't they sanction other hate groups.

Isn't that just abusing the freedom of Speech and u get punished/sanctioned/judged for what u do and not for what u say ?

Not really.  Zakir Naik doesn't have any right to be in the UK in the first place, he's not a UK citizen.  Its the same as denying David Duke and Fred Phelps an entry visa, and its the same as you not inviting someone into your house if you don't like them.

If a leader of the KKK tried to enter from the USA they too would be eligible to be refused entry under the same laws.  The law does not apply to UK citizens as they cannot be denied the right to enter the country.

The issue is not with the legality of it, but the application of the legislation. There is a choice to be made, and some think it wasn't the best one.

Well from my point of view there is nothing wrong with denying entry to a person that approves and encourages the murder of innocent people

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living
