    Sorry , I should mention that you're not on your own: roughly 75% of the smoking population are thinking about giving up or trying to give up at any given time. If you don't make your quit date, just try, try and try again. You'll do it.

    Yeah Q I might do snus. I'll give quitting a good fair chance, if I feel I can't I'll go for snus.

    It's not that bad I guess, I've managed to quit for a year, and several months on another occasion. But yeah you always seem to fall back on bad habits.

    @ BD

    If you managed to quit for a year, then you can quit again, for even mre than a year, but the only guarantee that you don't go back to smoking is if you take up regular vigorous cardio excecise (I recommend running).

    All psychological addictions are tightly connected to these neurotransmitters:
    Dopamine, serotonin and endorphins. And exercise, especially vigorous cardio exercise, promotes the production of all of them, precluding the use of recreational drugs.

    PS. Nicotine raises dopamine (pleasure chemical), and that's why an ex-smoker always yearns for a cigarette, to get that extra dose of dopamine (well, running gives you that naturally).

    Also, low serotonin levels are responsible for depression. (That's why vigorous cardio, wards off depression since it naturally increases serotonin).

    But first, try to stay 10 days without smoking before you take up exercise (excercise should be a weapon to avoid lapsing rather than quitting, because when you quit nicotine, your sugar metabolism goes heywire for about 10 days at least).

    I've had some friends swear by this stuff. They say even if you aren't trying to quit it will make you want to smoke fewer cigarettes, but there are side effects, so check that out first.

    not only while drinking, after meal, when I'm in front of lap top, while waiting, when I'm hanging out, while chit chatting, while thinking, when having serious conversation, after sex and while having sex (not all of the time).

    I don't smoke when I'm in my room (I hate the smell of smoke on my pillow when I'm sleep), when my parent around and while sleeping.

    I'm not that addicted though, I can control it  whistling2

    It just goes so well with morning coffee, after a meal and when drinking. And other activities Grin

    I have quit over the years but I have been smoking more or less since I was in high-school. I told myself as a compromise I would only smoke when stressed and when going out, but now I'm back to smoking regularly again.

    My main issue with is that it's so unhealthy but more specifically the health risks. I have a sore throat now and I'm freaking out, I'll just take that as a reminder for a possible and serious health concern.  

    Lung cancer, throat cancer, OK any cancer is bad. But that smoking increases the chances of these two?   mysmilie_977


    My father used to smoke all the time. He went to the doctor for help and was prescribed (?) or I think highly advised to chew Nicoderm or however you spell it. It really helped him.

    I once got a BJ while I was smoking. Then she said it was the last time because she felt "subjugated". I still don't know why she felt like that  Huh?  I asked her once and all she said "be thankful I agreed to do your fantasy once " so I let it go. But I'm still a little bewildered.
