I am writing to you to ask you to do everything in your power to immediately stop the execution of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, an Iran citizen who has been sentenced to death for adultery, a crime she says she did not commit yet confessed to under duress by Iranian authorities.
I urge you to put pressure on the Iranian government to free this lady immediately, to confirm her legal status to her son and lawyer, and also to ensure her sons will not be harassed for speaking out to the world about their mother's case.
STEP 2Additionally please copy/paste the following email
I am writing to you to ask you to do everything in your power to immediately stop the execution of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani by stoning or by any other means. Please also immediately clarify her legal status to her son and lawyer.
I urge you to immediately enact legislation that bans stoning as a legal punishment, and does not permit the use of other forms of the death penalty, flogging or imprisonment for those convicted of ‘adultery’ or other crimes.
Furthermore, I urge you to ensure that Sajjad Qaderzadeh, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani‘s son, will not be harassed for speaking out about his mothers case.
I oppose in the strongest possible terms the execution of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani by any means, and urge you to commute her death sentence immediately.
