"Small" talk and verbal superfluousness. Don't people ever get tired of hearing themselves talk?

This. Not fond of having to make small talk with people you've just met.

    What did you do?

And I know what you mean, it is kinda creepy. I remember when my sis got married, they basically invited our entire family over to their house and we were like, "WTH we've met these people like once, why the heck are they calling us over for some fancy dinner?" and then my sis didn't even know. We found out later that the 'groom' was seeing if he liked her (he did).

And she found out like a week later and got really mad, she told me and I got mad, and then we both got mad at our parents Grin

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy LOOOOOOOOL NICE ONE! Serves them right! My sis and I were outraged, it seemed like she was a piece of meat (although to be fair, he was trying to talk to her, so he wanted to know about her personality Tongue But still!!).

And yeah my parents knew. But she didn't. And she didn't even want to marry him Grin Long story...

Now that I think about it, I think a guy DID visit us once just to 'see' my sis, but my sis and I acted like complete fools cuz no one told us that he was a potential suitor. :/ I ended up telling them a sexist joke and the auntie was like, "Uhhh...." My sister had to run out of the room laughing her head off.

    Heh. Marriage is so funny.

So your parents tell you when the proposer dude is coming over? Aren't you supposed to dress up nicely? Tongue Man, you must have your mum in hysterics if you just sit on your laptop Grin Unless you come off as 'bashful and modest', then it's a good thing. Hahahahaha

And yeah he's great, you can't help but like him yes I'm glad they got married. He's the BEST brother-in-law everrrr. I'm even considering telling him that I'm not a Muslim. He'd understand.

Cheesy Cheesy lol he never came back for her did he Grin Grin

    No....

The problem was, that my parents had to rush out and they told my sis and I that some random ppl were coming over, so we were ready for random guests. But when they came over my sis and I had been speculating about what they'd be like, and when I saw the aunty (I went downstairs first) she scared the heck out of me. Seemed like one of those power hungry scary Pakistani women who probably abuse their husbands or something. So I ran upstairs laughing to my sister, and I told her that the aunty looked like a dragon. My sister didn't believe me, but when she came downstairs she saw the aunty and starting laughing her head off cuz it was true Tongue

Then the aunty was like, "What's so funny?" and I had to make up something on the spot, so I was like, "Uhmmmm...I just told her a sexist joke!" And the aunty was like (in Urdu), "What's a sexist joke?" And the man was like, "Tell us." And I was like, "uhhhhhhhh maybe that's a bad idea" Tongue But I told them anyway. It was really lame and everyone looked confused, and my brothers had this look in their eyes like, "WTH is wrong with you!??!?!"

    It was so funny!! dance

my mum hinted it but didnt say it out loud because I go batshit crazy at her whenever she starts marriage talk Cheesy  probably but she knew I was mad at her for bringing them into the room in the first place so didnt say anything..

Oh right! You gotta be careful, soon you'll be too old for any men to want to marry you Roll Eyes Men are stupid.

aww really thats nice, is it like a new brother  grin12 dont tell him unless you are 100 % sure, he might tell sis, she might tell parents...

He's BETTER than my brothers, he actually earns money and buys me cupcakes dance And he's hilarious. Honestly, he's just one of those people who everyone likes. yes

And yeah I know :/ That's the problem..

naaaa moral is she got lucky  Tongue

I AGREE dance He could've been a nutter, that wouldn't have ended too well.

But yeah that's why my parents kinda pressurised her to marry him, cuz they knew he was a 'good apple' or whatever and apparently those are rare grin12

yeah but im kinda lucky because even though she wants to talk marriage with me she still sees me as a little baby so shes not serious about it yet..

That IS lucky!! And soon you'll move out dance

    Quote
yeah but did your parents really know him? you know people say this is a good boy but who really knows him, he could be a monster without people knowing it.. thats why you dont marry a stranger, the chance of getting your perfect match is slim  Tongue

Yeah I know but it was kinda obvious with him, when you talk to him you can just tell he's honest and considerate and stuff. Plus, he wasn't a stranger when she married him Grin They'd known one another for 9 months. that's a long time!!

And it doesn't have to be a 'perfect match'. It just has to be, like, not hating one another. yes

lol so your only criteria is not hating your future husband Cheesy that will be easy to find   Tongue

And they have to be funny and have the same morals as me, and be Pakistani. Tongue
