do you know how many frames per second  you have got your webcam set at?  seems like its running on a delay so you might want to increase it..

I can't find any settings on frames per second.
There's no delay in any of the videos, the only problem is that in the Lateralus video you can't see my right hand move because of the low number of frames per second...
    But no audio/video delay.

Thanks grin12 They are hammer ons and it was well worth raping my finger tips to numbness to get the hang of those. I actually recorded a more fluent version before this one, but my dad was in the bathroom at the time I was playing and it recorded him clearing his throat out and spitting in the middle of the piece.  finmad

OK well I'm fairly new to playing guitar and nowhe near as good as others here. (I miss RIBS would love to see you again mate if you ever read this) but I will post stuff here shortly.

In the meantime this is for HappyMurtad. It's my guitar and should be available for around £250 - at least it was in May last year. I think that might be in your budget. It's a Canadian made guitar and they are excellent. I absolutely love mine. I have played some others belonging to family and friends and love mine the bestest lol

Thanks. I'm actually at the guitar shop right now and I think I'm falling in love with the electric ones! The possibilities seem endless. Oh I might need to up my budget. These are some sexy pieces of equipment!

Man I feel like a kid in a candy store. I hope this excitement doesn't wear off. So I think I'm pretty much sold on the electric guitar. For the things I want to do it sounds like the right choice. (southern rock, jazz, etc.) Also, they are just so damn sexy! With the guitar, the amp, the picks, and this tutorial DVD, I still come in right around budget. Will pick it all up in two weeks. Can't wait! : dance:

Haha congrats. Yes learning to play guitar has made me feel like a kid again too - brilliant  dance

Great choice btw - Epiphone are excellent guitars and the one you chose looks awesome  Afro

Electric is a fantastic choice as long as those you live with don't mind lol - in my case it would be impossible to ever play the thing plugged into the amp.

Haha. I won't blast away the neighbors too much. The guy at the shop yesterday had taught himself to play, so he gave me some hope. Did you name your guitar Hassan?

Btw you can buy a set of DVDs to learn from and won't cost much. It's much cheaper than lessons and you can do it at your convenience and go over bits etc...

    There are loads on offer.

I'd suggest that you check out the YouTube vids and the one you like, go for. They all have DVDs to sell lol

Yep. I've actually been watching videos on YouTube for a few weeks now, just to see if I really think I could do it. The guy was showing me a bunch of tutorial DVDS as well that I'm gonna buy when I pick it all up. If I can decently play a song or two by the summer I'll feel accomplished.

I'm really ignorant about this but'

aren't electric guitars used to play different types of music than the type of guitar that Hassan has.

For some reason I can't picture someone playing soft lullabyish songs on an electric guitar.

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

Well they sound different but you can play the same songs. It would be the difference between the electric version of Hotel California or the acoustic version.

But if you can play one you can play the other.

The advantage electric guitar has is that it's louder and can play solos much better with much greater sustain and volume.

But the acoustic can be played anywhere without an amp, in your living room with friends, on the beach, in the park etc...

    Horses for courses.

Of course most good guitarists have both! (Which is why I don't lol)

Yeah, I think you can't get certain moods with the different guitars. IMO acoustic is better, but that's the style I prefer to the electric sounds.
