    Hmm, I heard Rogaine (minoxidil) is useless. I wonder if my gp will prescribe me finasteride (never heard of it before)-get it free etc.

    Finasteride supposedly works for 90% of men... but it will mess with your hormones... the possible side effects aren't worth it imo.

    coconut oil.

    As long as it's nothing to do with hereditary balding, and just down to bad diet or other lesser issues, then I would thoroughly recommend it.  my hair was falling out until it was so bad I was too ashamed to go out, but I've been using coconut oil for over a year now and my hair is so much better. 

    Also garlic is another one.  It's a moroccan treatment, I have seen it work on alopecia patches.  So rubbing ground garlic, or a garlic glove on the spot daily for a few weeks actually grew hair back when it happened to my ex husband.

    Fair warning though, the smell stays on for weeks after even after you wash your hair.  I should know, I tried it myself.  Grin

    I kept apologising to people who had to talk to me because the smell just wouldn't wash out.

    I bought a pair of pants for jogging today, it says they're keep in the heat, tight fitting. Can't wait to go running tomorrow. I bought sports bra set and a little backpack bag to keep my phone and bottle of water in as well.

    Is it ok to wear a woolly hat whilst jogging?

    ^I think I have hereditary hair loss...Yeah, my hair falls out like scary (on top of that I have thin hair), but I've accepted it -suppose I could go see a hair specialist. My mums hair is terrible, she hardly has any hair on her head these days and she's just in her 40s.

    It maybe due to poor diet too...my parents ate the same stuff they raised us on...which lacked all sorts of nutrients, lack of greens, lack of fruits. It was rice and curry everyday. These days my parents know better and have a variety of food. Definitely lacked Iron in our diets, and that's one thing that's important to good hair. So I've been trying to eat lentils and spinach more, at the least once a week.

    Of course it is! Smiley Whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Are you wearing it to keep warm? A running hat in this case may be more appropriate Smiley It depends on the purpose really.

    Just be careful that if you start feeling really hot, take your hat off and let the heat escape otherwise you will feel faint-headed due to overheating.

    You could always wear a headband overs your ears to stop getting ill if you have a tendency to get ill quickly in the cold. Gloves are another idea.

    Try to avoid wearing cotton when running in the cold- it is not effective at moisture wicking or insulating you.

    So my typical shopping basket these days usually looks like this:


    Sometimes I also like to just buy a tub of fat free natural yoghurt...and I just would have a spoonful of it now and then when I fancy and in the kitchen.

    Occasionally I buy bread for breakfast, (I have a pack of weetabix here but not really a fan of it) normally find I'm not eating breakfast or having a fruit instead.

    I would recommend that you see a doctor to confirm whether your diet has had any impact on your hair. It's the only way you'll know for sure. Your diet doesn't look particularly excellent.

    I don't really know a great deal about Fitness and Diet but a month ago after noticing a growing belly I decided to start jogging for 20 minutes and 10 minutes of walk plus I do 10 crunches,10 butt-ups and 10-15 push ups. I do all that 5-6 days a week. So far I'm starting to lose the fat and four packs are coming out. It's only the fat on the lower belly that remains so I'm on a high protein and low carbs diet. Not a fan of diet but it looks like its very important. I want to shed off the stubborn fat on my lower belly.

    Any tips?

    Calories in vs calories out. Just consume fewer calories than what you burn and you'll lose that fat eventually, as it's the very last to go. No need to go low carb.

    You might wanna up the activity level a bit, like go for longer runs instead of walking or jogging.

    High protein diets are usually for those building muscles. There is a lot of made-up crap about dieting out there so be careful what you believe.

    Only way to shed stubborn fat is to burn it off through cardio. You can build the best abs but they aren't going to show unless you shift the fat. It isn't a brilliant idea to cut carbs altogether as that isn't really sustainable in the long term and you're more likely to just put the pounds back on once you start eating them again. Personally, I don't count calories; I consider what my food is made up of instead. Things like nuts may be portrayed as a superfood, something good to eat, but they're high in fat (albeit not high in saturated fat) but it is easy to eat a lot of them and that can be as unhealthy as a large pack of fried crisps. Also, something can be relatively low in calories but high in saturated fat. Diet drinks, with zilch sugar, are full of sweeteners that can run havoc in your body.

    Your body needs carbs. It needs fat. It needs protein. It needs sugar. There are loads of diets out there that cut one or more of these groups out and in most cases, as soon as the person stops the diet and starts re-introducing the 'banned' things, viola! the weight creeps back on. Weight loss through sensible eating, over a longer period of time than crash diets, will have the best results in the long term.

    There are loads of things that can help you watch what you eat, such as eating slower, using smaller plates, smaller portions than usual. But generally, eating less and moving more is what will kick start and keep you on track.

    I find that more people tend to leave out the "fitness" part of fitness and diet or diet and exercise, or whatever you call it.

    It's unfortunate, because that's the side of the equation that can have much more dramatic effect on your overall health and is easier to control by planning and making increases in physical activity. With diet there's a narrower range where you can only alter so much without having adverse effects to your overall well being.
