so what got you thinking the "open minded" thoughts in the first place ?
Funny story there...
It was about 3 to 4 years ago when I started reading the Quran during the ramadan.
After a few days reading the Quran I came across this verse "They are not all alike. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community who recite the revelations of Allah in the night season, falling prostrate (before Him). (113) They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous. (114) And whatever good they do, they will not be denied the meed thereof. Allah is Aware of those who ward off (evil). (115) " Quran 3:113-115
After this verse I was beginning to open my mind a bit, so I started reading the New Testemant from the Bible.
After reading the New Testament I was converted to christianity. I mean the story of Jesus was at that time very seducing and I was seduced.

I even went to church one time.

A few months after that, I came across some documanteries about the universe and I became very interested in that.
it was the documantery from BBC "Space".
After watching it my whole life changed, I was reading about the creation from the Bible and the Quran and I talked with christians and muslims about that.
I mean now I know it took some billions of years to create the present universe we live in, in the Bible and Quran it says that "god" created the heaven and the earth in a few days.
I was starting to question religion as a whole from that point. And not long after that I became a happy atheist.
