  • html in posts, please!
     OP - August 11, 2010, 10:04 AM

There are some forums where you have the facility of having the html option on when posting. This makes posting creative and interesting. Is there any chance of that being  offered here?[At least to select members]
OR increase the number of BB tags that can be used in a post. I have noticed some of them can't be used here.

No chance whatsoever. Use BBC. Also please note that we do not want excessively "creative" posting. We disabled the coloured fonts deliberately and will not be switching them back on.

The risk of someone using the marquee tag is just too great.

2] Serious topics needn't be colorless! Cheesy. Seriously, color can help in highlighting text!

                                      It's OK!

hypocrucifier, we offer members and guests the option of a variety of themes. These themes have different background colours. What that means is that no matter how clever you think your coloured text is some other members are going to find it utterly horrendous to look at and/or almost illegible. That is why we disabled coloured fonts.

I'm with Oz on this.  Just imagine what yeezevee's posts will look like if he was allowed to use different colours and fonts etc.  Vamoose

Many sites don't even allow emoticons. e.g. richarddawkins.net, facebook, atheistnexus, etc.

..and if there's a security issue with allowing html code, then it must be a no.  Angry

Funny you should mention that. Wink  Yeezevee (bless him) used to be quite enthusiastic about using some of the BBC options.

True, coloured text, and even enlarged text, does look tacky
