I couldn't imagine not eating tasty decadent roast pork or bacon.
For those of you trying it for the first time I recommend trying some Latin Caribbean style pork, like pernil, it's slow cooked, moist and tasty.
Barbecued pork ribs are also a very good first time food.  Smiley
Stay away from dry items like pork chops, they can taste gamey even if they are well seasoned if you are not used to eating pork.

Ordering a BLT sandwich while wearing a hijab will get you questions like: "Are you allowed to have pork?" ; D "Uhm, yeah." I felt like a 16-year old trying to buy alcohol. But it was delicious! Yummy!

The future is full of thrilling possibilities.

LoL @ trustworthy I had greek waiter pause one time when I ordered roast pork. Right after he brought us our beers  Cheesy Cheesy

I'm not a big fan but I order pork more out of principal. Sounds silly I know, but its a symbolism of defiance to me.

It's kind of sweet that they tried to make sure, though. Grin I bet my husband wishes someone did that for him when he ordered a pepperoni pizza in a restaurant right after arriving here thinking it was halal.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

LOL! So he did NOT pause when you ordered beers but he did hesitate because of pork? Typical. Grin

No, that does not sound silly. I can relate.

Yeah, I thought so too and that's what I told the waiter. After making some weird 'that's the best explanation I can give you, buddy!' gesture.

Bahahaa poor thing. Bet he enjoyed it, though :p

^QSE: I have no idea how that tastes but if it's even half as good as bacon is, I want some too!

Hmm I just tried it twice. First time I swallowed it, I mean I didnt get to taste it. Second time, I chewed it a bit and it tasted like meat lol. Ya but Im not sure if I ever will be able to eat it properly.

I never tried pork. Even though my friends keep saying it's the best meat ever and you don't know what you're losing.
I think it's mental. I don't have problem with alcohol but if I think about pork, I just feel bad.

I'm going to try eat it next month. I'll try a Hamburger with Bacon or some sausages.

What is the best thing to try for the first time?

I would suggest a burger or sausages ariel, bacon is quite strong.

I would prefer bacon over sausages. Personally, I do not like pork at all. Minced meat is OK, especially if it's mixed with beef. Sausages stink and taste yuck, but bacon is nice  Afro

Recently I made this typical, traditional dish and used pork minced meat instead of beef. I bet nobody had done that before. It tastes good, hardly any difference.
