Greetings to everyone,

First I'd like to start with an introduction of my background, I am a non-muslim (from birth, my parents are non-muslims and none of my immediate family members are muslims) myself who was interested in islam. I have briefly read the quran and I find it to be utterly ridiculous.

I have personally been making a critical examination of the quran and islam as a religion in general, posing arguements against it and criticising it. And as well as debating with muslims - those who proselytize, make certain claims regarding the quran and islam - on the net.

I am subscribed to atheist channels on youtube and watch videos of atheism regularly on youtube. Thats how I found this site via the channel of (one of?) the admin(s?)?. I found the user giving very logical criticisms, so heres me registering hoping to find users like him to engage in conversations with.

why were you interested in Islam?

More about myself? - Hmmm okay. I'm 20 years old, male and rather lazy.

What makes me think atheism is the right choice? - I wouldnt say I am a positive atheist. I simply dont find most "holy" scriptures to be compelling and state my reasons why.

why was I interested in Islam? - Because of the way muslims made it seem like. As something sublime and filled with original deeply spiritual and philosophical insights.

Am I hot? - I dont know? lol. Maybe decent looking, maybe ugly.

I am taking a break from this forum(I don't know how long it might be) to focus on my life.

Just to make it public clearly. I have had expressed an interest in one of the members of this forum.

And this is detracting me away from the original intention of my posting here. My journey with Islam is an important one. It affects my life. Because I strongly considered it to be a religion that might be worthwhile. And I needed to make an honest assessment of it. From all possible angles; linguistically/philosophically/scientifically/historically/theologically.

As for now...

I need to take some time off. Level my head up. Carry on with my life because I don't like where this is going.

I am posting this on purpose here exclusively for the sake of that person - they will know what to make out of this.
