Why are they specifically targeting Romas? why not ALL illegal immigrants indiscriminately?
Well, I don´t know about France, but here in Denmark, where we have just deported 23 Romas, part of the explanation could be this :

Two out of three put before a magistrate in Copenhagen are of foreign descent. Criminal Eastern Europeans are the most frequent guests of the court.
As much as 68 % of all arrestees in Copenhagen who come up before a magistrate are of foreign descent.
Which is about two thirds of all the accused.
This is what a report from the Copenhagen Police, covering the period 2007-2009, which ekstrabladet.dk has seen, shows.
The figure is from 2009 and the report shows that since 2007 there has been a steady increase in the number of accused of foreign origin in the court :
In 2009, 1,844 persons were charged in the magistrate court, out of which 1247
were of foreign origin.
In 2008 the number was 1848 . 1201 were of foreign descent.
In 2007 the number was 1715 . 1072 were of foreign descent.
Eastern European criminals
It is especially Eastern Europeans who are represented in the ugly statistics and of the Eastern Europeans, it is especially Romanians, who are the problem.
482 of the accused in the court last year were Eastern Europeans – out of which 169 were Romanians. This corresponds to the Romanians representing 35 percent of the Eastern European criminals.
- It is far too high figures when we look at the total number of accused persons of foreign origin. But it also says something about the poverty you find in countries like Romania.
Many poverty - criminals go to Western Europe to earn money and it is a problem throughout the Nordic region, said police inspector Svend Foldager, Copenhagen police.
Eastern Europeans are notably behind many domestic burglaries and the picture is the same in the other Nordic capitals, says Svend Foldager.
- But our cooperation with the Romanian Police and the other Eastern European countries is improving, so our possibility for intervening is better, he says.

Four Romanian men were in the Court of Horsens sentenced to lengthy prison sentences for fatal violence in one of the most brutal home robberies in Denmark.
At the robbery in Skovby in October 2008 a 76- year-old man was killed and his wife
bound and severely beaten , but she survived.

Why such brutality ? It cannot have been that difficult to overpower two old people in their seventies.

The killing of the 42 -year-old Norwegian stewardess Vera Vildmyren cause several chiefs in the Copenhagen Policeforce to warn that the problems with criminals Eastern Europeans - particularly Romanians - are growing, writes Politiken Saturday .
"The open borders policy means that we are being overrun by Eastern Europeans . It is a huge problem . They are committing bank robberies , home robberies , serious theft , begging, shoplifting everything , "said homicide chief in the Copenhagen Police , Ove Dahl, to Politiken .
According to Ove Dahl some of the criminal Eastern Europeans live in Denmark , while others go back and forth. He warns specifically against Romanian criminals and encourages people to do what they are asked if they are exposed to a robbery.
" Romanians are unscrupulous . They will kill for a couple hundred DKK . It is a completely different culture , "says Ove Dahl.
