I can only speak for myself, but I think the reason that I care or still talk about Islam, is similar to when I discovered it, wanting to learn more, think and discuss about why I left it. Its another new awakening, just like when people convert, they have all these new thoughts and perspectives. I don't have any desire to debate mulsims, just like I did not have the desire to debate non-muslims when I was muslim. To each is own. I do think that being a LITERAL follower of ANY religion causes hatred,division, and limited thinking. I care about Islam because I care about the muslims who are affected by it in a negative way. just my opinion.

Please ignore Mountain Bison, as he is quite quite crazy. Also grandpa Bison is struggling with dementia.

In any case, I'm for equal treatment of all faiths (and lack of them) on this forum and will not ask you to be not condescending towards anyone, as most religionist get plenty of that directed to them, with no one bitching. Like I said, the forum, just like the world we live in, is unfair.

I enjoyed your comparison of our unhealthy obsession with Islam to abandoning a puppy. I don't think it's the best metaphor, but our hate towards Islam is worth analyzing, and my good friend MaB has explained somewhere here why why we don't obsess with buddhism.

Yeah :( if she/he didn't like our views they should have discussed it with us. The puppy metaphor was confusing, so are they saying Allah/Muhammad is like a dog? dogs are loyal, obedient and give unconditional love, so that would definitely not fit.

I think the puppy metaphor was pretty deep, though it's a shame if she is gone and will not explain it now.

In my understanding of what she had in mind it was something like this: you were in love with a puppy (islam), then it became inconvenient for you to keep it so you gave it away, but you felt guilty about the action, thus to make the guilt go away you call the puppy (islam) ugly, bad, etc and start hating it so you don't have to feel bad about leaving it. I like it, though I don't completely agree with it.
