    Not that I buy into this sort of thing but I've meet many muslims who like to bandy around celebrity converts as if that some how proves their belief system correct.
    When we look at the list of celebrity convert-reverts, the list isn't long and 'The Cat' would be a big one. Off the top of my head I can only think of Omar Shariff, Wesley Snipes(who ironically, according to Wiki, had his apartment destroyed during the September 11 attacks) and notorious UK inmate, Charles Bronson.
    Now that said, I don't see the need to pit muslims and ex muslims in a them vs us scenario, it's counter productive and would probably only lead to more decisiveness(if that's even possible) so like I said at the start of the post, I don't really buy into that sort of thing, it's just a thought is all.

    The silliness of their thinking never occurs to them - that if a few people converting to Islam proves their religion is correct, the fact that 5 billion humans including every famous person in the world who are not Muslim outweighs that.

    It really is low self esteem and insecurity.

    Yeah but if you point this out to them, they'll go back to "the chosen one" mentality. You see, not everyone are guided to Islam. It's a special blessing. It's like being VIP.

    Islam is the easiest of all to convert...... people go in to Islam for different reasons..

    You have to admire how dawahgandists have completely succeeded in obliterating the historical oppression of Africans by the Islamic slave trade and Arabic imperialism in Africa from public consciousness

    slight correction, I mean to say along with the other two people I mentioned earlier was a Muslim or if you prefer is a former Muslim. <Imagines CEMB'ers frantically Wiki-ing Wesley Snipes for confirmation>

    Apart from Snipes apostasy and tax evasion tendencies the other thing that catches my attention, did anyone else notice, is that he's got a seriously impressive background in martial arts. You don't have to be Bruce Lee to see this guy must have some repertoire of ass kicking skill, I mean the man must be f**ken lethal.   
    Sorry Yusif, I digress, perhaps this post would be better off in the MMA thread, along with topics like, was Billy Blanks at one stage a poor man's answer to Wesley Snipes or is 'Benny the Jet Urquidez' the most black belted man in the world (movie one at least) or the story that Urquidez was picked up on the Gracie radar and when one of them challenged him, on learning afterwards that Urquidez had been training in ground work he actually called off the fight.
     Okay apologies again, I'm rambling after all this thread is dedicated to you . . . Mr Cat Stevens.

    True. Some African-American converts to Islam, especially in the early days of NOI, view Islam as a religion for non-whites and underdogs, unlike "white Christianity". Funny that, considering the facts.

    Yeah, how horrible to being a dishonest man in that situation, while being an ex-Muslim will lead to that person being ostracized or worse and you can't marry someone out of love Roll Eyes
