Chalk it down to a poor choice of words then. Think about it. This is a subject that you have be specific about, and choose your words accurately. Seriously, being reductive about 'black culture' like that doesn't help.

Maybe its best to just drop it.

I didn't make a blanket statement (atleast not on purpose) I was specifically in regards to that particular grouping inwhich you misunderstood.

I will apologize for nothing of the sort and especially because you mis understood and made a tangent over it and antagonized me more and more for attempting to explain what you failed to realize and a rejection of the obvious fact that I didn't mean what you originally thought, 20 times in a row.

ok and the poster wasnt you, I apologize for that (SEE)......(and again, you use the  Roll Eyes to antagonize, is that just how you are?)

I know but I'm still gonna answer it. I'm lovely to everyone else. Ask 'em  dance

Any misunderstanding caused was done because you were not specific enough from the off set. Treat this as a learning curve for any other race related topics. Don't make blanket statements and expect people to know what you are thinking  Afro

    Fair enough.

and any further misunderstanding was caused by your antagonizing and constant arguing (and more antagonizing) when ever I tried to rectify the issue which could have prevented all of this  Afro

Please just calmly ask if a statement doesn't sound right.

Black People can't make their own minds up. Songs make them want to kill people. Their brains are wired like that. As soon as they hear and see another black man talk about guns, they want to rob and kill and do drugs and call women bitches.

Like when kids play GTA and shoot up a whole school. EVIL GAMES!!!!!!!!

I grew up with this music and it made me a good kid. Not like my friends who are now criminals and bums. Even though we grew up in the same area. You now why because I knew better:

Now that I am educated and well-paid I can enjoy these songs Smiley And GTA!

There is another arguement put forward as to what else may be a contributing factor. I think it was Trevor Philips of the CRE who gave figures for the number of black ( think it was specific to Afro-Carribean ) families without fathers. He said the fact that lots of young black kids had been brought up with none or little postive male role-models  in their lives contributed massively to bad choices made later on in life.
Make of it what you will ,personally I think he talks sense, and he seemed to have the figures to back it up.
Another aspect of course is still institutional racism, not overt as in the 'old days'  but that  judge would be more likely to give a custodial sentence to a afro-wherever black man ,whilst he may be inclined to give another race the benefit of the doubt in the same circumstances.
However the numbers are so high, that simply crying racism would not explain away   other tangible  underlying problems. Social, cultural, economic  etc.  If it was a simple race issue then whitey should just be locking up any brown or yellow or black skinned person, but this is a particular racial  section   in question here, other races do not have this problem, I think the solution to it lies withing asking why is that the case.

According to the polls only 1.6 % of Americans are athiests. So what gives you the right to call the other 80% morons?'

I don't think it's got anything at all to do with "racial prejudice" as the article said some politicians said. If this were the case then you would have a lot of Indians in jail too, I'm sure, but they're very successfully integrated. I don't like this idea that if a community has problems with crime or integration... then it can only be our problem because we're all evil.  Roll Eyes

I think it probably has to do with socio-economic (fuck, did I use that word right) aspects... Same as anywhere. People grow up in poor areas that perhaps become ghettoized, and the people there don't integrate and turn to crime... it honestly wouldn't surprise me if this is the case. The one way to reverse the process is education, but why other communities like the Indians and the Chinese can integrate so successfully makes me wonder why other communities fail to do so.

I would like to see any data regarding the breakdown between British men of West Indian and African descent in this issue. My sense is that there could be a difference between them. Issues of rates of absent fathers, more stable family structures in the African British community may point towards an understanding of this, if that is the case.

I do think though that the reasons are multi-faceted.

It's easy, i think. Blacks were moreoften poor immigrants, who did not have the same education level as the normal whites, that as in many countries of the world. Some guys then think, it would have something to do with a suggested "race"  wacko... But it's a normal socio-cultural factor. That is also the reason, why poor people groups are more likely to be religious and are so more likely to be in prison Wink.

    Let's all get along

The Muslim thing could also be for the benefits of being in a gang and for prison benefits (like halal food, I'm guessing better food) also Friday prayer etc. I'm sure some of the conversions are sincere. Just saying.

Mardas, many other immigrant groups who came from poor backgrounds, neither they or their descendants have the same prison rates. Plus, the rate is out of proportion to their population, that is the whole point.

Special priveliges in prison, plus a channeling of anger and male frustration towards the kuffar is a narrative that appeals.

Do you know this book ? I read it many years ago and it made a profound impression on me.

I know you cannot compare American conditions with the UK and hopefully things have improved since Jacob Holdt travelled America.

You can read the book online here : http://www.american-pictures.com/english/book/index.html

When Mrs. Pabst, however, saw these photos of people defeated from apathy and alcoholism she repeatedly shouted: "I hate them, I hate these lazy animals. Why don't they want to work, why don't they take a job?"

Read about mrs. Pabst here :http://www.american-pictures.com/roots/chapter-52.htm

Or about Linda here : http://www.american-pictures.com/roots/chapter-30.htmhttp://www.american-pictures.com/gallery/usa/mediums/usa-00601.jpg

    Quote
Linda lived not too far from Disney World, but that I should not mention too loudly, for she has never had money to go there. So poor were they at Linda's that they rarely had light before I moved in with them. I had a little millionaire money with me so I could buy kerosene for their old lamp. It was a day of rejoicing for the family.

Linda's father worked from early morning to late night for a white landowner and, after a three mile walk, often on bare feet, he did not get home before 10 o'clock at night. But this evening we wanted to delight him with a surprise, and when we saw him coming in the darkness, Linda ran out and leaped into his arms shouting: "Dad, Dad, we got a present... see, see, light... we got light!"

can someone quote studies that control for socio economic status? if this still holds strongly controlling for SES, there are cultural and possibly genetic factors involved. i dunno.

Do you think maybe more black criminals get caught because black people are more thoroughly policed, eg, more likely to be stopped and searched?  I'd like to see a study controlled for the factors of SES and the majority ethnicity of the population.
