Yesterday Repent America, a very evangelistic group, came to my college. It started out with an anti-abortion claim with them handing out very graphic fliers (actually four year old children were handing them out) stating abortion is the American holocaust. They also had signs up saying Allah is an idol and sin; Buddha is dead; Joseph Smith is a liar; and tons of Bible quotes showing Christ is the only way. I got into a heated argument with them that Islam is in fact almost the same thing as Christianity and Allah and God are the same thing. They didn't like that answer too much and told me I'm not saved and ignorant. I quoted Bible passages and they shut up really quick.

I don't get it, if the Abrahamic faiths are so similar, why all the hate? Is Repent America and the West Boro Baptists similar to the Taliban? Regardless they made me so angry. How can they say good people of other faiths aren't going to heaven if they don't believe in Jesus? I guess it's like Islam with the belief in Mohamed.

Fundies are allways the same, arent they? No matter what religion they come from, they are allways spot on and right about everyting, and anyone that doesnt agree with them is doomed, or has to be killed.

Best thing you can do in these situations is to debate them on the spot... i did that a few times. Its hilarious when they have to leave because you debunked all their arguments. Good thing is, most of these guys are not really smart.

Someone please explain to them that America is not a person, it can't repent.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

This is what I like about orthodox Christians. They very easily accept the counter argument and shut up. Muslims never do. So yes, I think Christians are a lot better.

Hmm... good point Muddy. As a former Catholic and a former Muslim, I know very well. I could debate and debunk with the Catholics very easily and they accepted my apostacy. Muslims on the other hand...
