I just wanted to highly recommend a book I have read in 3rd Grade High School.

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque

According to me this is the best book I have ever read.

In 1928 when it was Published, it sold 2.5 Million Copies in 18 Months.

10 Days to Faster Reading by Abbey Marks Beale - This shit works!!!

A short history of nearly everything by Bill Bryson - a brilliant read. Laugh out loud funny, engaging and enlightening.

Cool. I checked the Google but it didn't turn up the book, must be a rare one. I'll keep my eyes open for it though.

I've got Aryeh Kaplan's translation and commentary of the Sefer Yetzirah. It's pretty good, there's a copious amount of explanation accompanying the text, which is much needed with something as abstruse as Sefer Yetzirah can be. Plus it gives interesting info on a lot of other aspects of Qabbalah, the Hebrew language and so forth. And it includes the other major variants of the text in appendices which is pretty useful.

Anyway, wtf is that in your avatar?  Tongue

LOL, you read the Infidel, that book was full of crap, I read it a few years ago, I would say alot of it was lies. some of the shit was even factually incorrect. It was akin to Hamaza paper on biology, with respect to information about Islam.

I only read 3 chapters so far, because i was too busy reading the "Inverting the Pyramid". I have heard a lot about the Hirsi and her book which is why i got curious about her but im reserving my judgement until im through.

Are Richard Dawkins books worth reading? I'm kinda turned off from wanting to read them because of his "militant" atheism.

Then read the books that aren't about atheism. Selfish Gene is a good place to start Afro

I'd forgotten.  So I looked it up then, cried and laughed, but quietly, internally, so I would not get thrown out of the library.

Let's see, if I don't post it as hyperlink it won't take up too much space (on a BOOK THREAD!) but this Yt link reminded me of what I'd fortgotten.  Who is Randy Pausch? I admit I'd forgotten.

Selfish Gene, the anniversary edition is good. gives you great insight into evolution, and evolutionary game theory, and reciprocation.

Two recommendations for Selfish Gene, I'll definitely read that book. I really need to learn more about evolution.

It might be good, but I just want to stay away from atheism-related books and focus more on other topics instead.
