Yeah, but pizza was invented in Italy and further developed in the US (in New York, New Haven, Providence, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis), our country giving it worldwide popularity. If pizza, as a worldwide culinary phenomenon, was born in Italy, it grew up in the US, which is where pineapple was first put on pizza too.

Bollocks. I used to know an Italian dude (as in real Italian, not born somewhere else of Italian descent) who flatly refused to put pineapple on his pizzas. Someone even walked into his place with a can of pineapple and offered him a grand if he'd make a pizza with pineapple. He still refused. The man knew his pizza and he had principles.
