- are you tall / average / short for your ethnic background ?
- are you tall / average / short for where you live ?
- whats the relation between your height and that of your parents and those of generations preceeding even them?
- do you think that your height is genetic or due to your lifestyle, diet and athletics etc ?
I'm around 180cm.
Now I'm slightly above 20 yo. (my birthday is towards the end of the year) I've read that you don't get any growth after 19 and hardly any at all after 21. And this is quite funny because I just checked a fitness test that I had a year and a half ago and I have added 3 cm plus since then. So I suspect I will hit atleast 6ft in height within the end of this year or the next.
I can't remember well but it has always seemed that physically I have been growing steadily. Oddly, even though I was a late bloomer because when all the boys had started to have their voices breaking mine was still sharp and it had been that way till I was 18 and now mine is much deeper than everyone else I know who are of my age. I'm also more hirsute. (gotta shave my armpit and pubes every week, beard every 2-3 days) The absurdity of this is that I'm 9 inches taller than both my parents (theyre both of the same height, my dad's probably 2 cm taller than my mom). If I were to stand with the them in alignment, the tip of my parent's heads would be beneath my chin. To boot I'm also lactose intolerant and barely had enough calcium during my teens. My overall health is bad. I never took part in much athletics. So what is the cause of my height, I don't know.
Anyways... my being quite tall would be a good thing. Atleast I need whatever I can have to be confident considering my mental issues and stuff... But then its always better to feel good while looking normal than to look good and feel bad...
Our individual psyches being determined/influenced by our physical appearances are caused by the impression/association of the body with the psyche. How is that two people who look the same can end up having different personalities and behaving differently? Do we not observe this with identical twins?
Some of these things are genetic. And the rest is the environment, who we are surrounded by, how they have treated us and nurture etc But what are genes? Are they not themselves the sum of who we are down the generations? A totality of all that we have experienced and reacted/adapted to? Genes eat into themselves. How you behave, everything that you say, is the product of your genetic history. Put a pig in a stable and horse in a pigsty, the horse will still be more horse than the pig.
And what you say now shapes your genetic future. So it all matters from the start. But you have your chances as well. Things that you can force and take control of. And whether fate favours you especially. A pearl producing muscle will cease to produce pearls if it ends up in a sewer.
Never been particular with my physical appearance. But all of a sudden been more conscious of it. I don't want to end up being a materialist. The stench of asura in the air is pretty strong in this kali yuga.
Its also a matter of perspective.
If you have to develop a particular skill for that and are a perfectionalist like me. This can get to your head and you end up getting overly worked up. And if you already have psychological issues and you have to pile that with the pressure of constant self-grooming.
