  • Addicted to Quran miracles videos
     OP - December 22, 2010, 08:16 PM

Dammit guys, I really can't help it...but almost everyday I look up some bullshit miracles on youtube.
And I rage, hard. Who else has this habit?
I do it to see if the uploader is lying/claiming bullshit, or if he's simply retarded enough to believe his own videos.
But most of all I look at the comments to check out the debunking responses, but most of all it's the same Subhanallah/praise allah every frikkin time

Here's one that blew my mind. The actual verses which are here on CEMB used to disprove the Quran about the orbiting of the sun, are used by this guy to PROVE the holiness in the Quran.
Highest rated comment? This: "this was written is the Koran even before any scientist discovered it. since Koran is the only religious book where we can find only one version, it means it was never changed. so therefore nobody added these verses after scientist discovered it.
this is enough proof for a logical mind to understand the truth in the Koran and in Islam."

    *sigh*

haven't thought of sorting to date, I'll do that from now.
Your channel is great, but I'm not sure if it's very effective on muslims.
I rather go read their comments and make a custom reply :p

I gave up trying to comment a while ago.

    day 1:
Post 25 comments on 25 videos verifiably demonstrating how the miracle claim is false

    day 2:
Check back; 22 deleted, 2 ignored, 1 responded with incoherent ramblings, logical fallacy and irrelevant quran verse.

After 3 years of that, I finally gave up.

    Smiley

How opportune that this should arise. I'm currently advising a particular organization on putting together an information pack fighting against pseudo-science in Islam -- sort of like the kinds of stuff that both the creationists and Dawkins camps have been trying to throw at schools.

It is being developed by a number of scientists in reaction to Bucaille & Yahya type activities. If there are particular glaring instances of pseudoscience you'd like to see us tear up -- particularly from these two authors as they seem to have quite a lot of traction -- please let me know here or msg me privately. I'd need a reference including page numbers though. (Unfortunately the youtube clips won't do it.)

    Happy (and rational) holidays

Is this particular organisation Islamic or secular?

Difficult to say, really. Ostensibly Muslim, lots of Sufi types. More involved in helping the third world education system. In terms of scientists involved, we are talking about Darwinist and "Big-Bangist", "proper" scientists (like me).

Ah. That's a good point. In helping me out with dodgy pseudo-science, you would also be aiding a "Muslim" organization promoting "proper" science but, by transitivity, you might be improving the image of Islam.

Which might, like pot, get folk hooked on harder stuff ...

On the other hand, you'd be doing your bit to stop people reading Bucaille and Yahya.

Just to lay the cards on the table here. I certainly appreciate why some people wouldn't want to help out on this one Smiley Decriminalization etc ... Wink

No, nothing like that. I just think that Muslims would be more inclined to accept the scientific miracles as false if it's other Muslims telling them, not us atheists.

(I don't think they trust us, we're trying to bring the daijjal into the world through secularism Tongue)

Those videos actually make you more stupid, not smarter.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Right -- that's mostly my motivation for being involved in this.
