1,500 Britons brave machete mobs: Anger at BA for flying tourists INTO war zone despite official warning says news

    Quote
The unofficial death toll in the Tunisian turmoil is approaching 100. Snipers loyal to the government of deposed president Zine Ben Ali have been shot.

A nephew of his was stabbed to death and shops, offices and homes belonging to him have been looted as gang violence has replaced celebration of a people’s uprising.

Three policemen were reported to have been lynched.

In desperation, political leaders held talks about forming a new government which should be announced today. Unrest was spreading across the region with reports of protests in Colonel Gaddafi’s Libya.

In the last two days more than 3,000 British holidaymakers and expatriates have been evacuated, with the three main package tour operators saying they had brought all but a few of their clients home. However between 1,000 and 1,500 expats, independent travellers and small tour group holidaymakers remain in the country, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. They are furious that they have been abandoned.

LOL... the Islamists had nothing to do with it - though I'm sure that wont stop them trying to claim some credit if they can.

The manner of self-immolation of the individual mentioned above - being intended only to kill himself - strongly suggests personal despair as the fundamental motivating factor.  An unemployed Englishman similarly burned himself alive outside 10 Downing Street in the early '80 under Thatcher.

The trouble is even uprisings that can be regarded as being based on legitimate human economic and other grievances have a tendency to take on a religious hue in the Islamic world which ends up making a nonsense of the whole revolutionary endeavor eg the 9th century ce zanj slave rebellion whose leader Ali ibn Muhammad allegedly promised his slave followers that they would in their turn become masters of slaves (being a Muslim he could not of course campaign on a platform of slavery abolition).

Perhaps the regime did not need to fall. The nail in Ben Ali’s coffin was not economic duress but the hatred that cut across all classes for the corruption of his “family”: that is, his relatives and those of his second wife, twenty-one-years his junior, Leila Trabelsi, a hairdresser. The “Family” owed its fortunes to its political connections. Legitimate owners were expropriated from valuable lands, turned over to members of the Ben Ali and Trabelsi clans.

What do Sweden's asylum policies have to do with driving into a protest with guns?

Nothing, and you know it. Every single one of your posts is the same, make a link with Islam and blame Muslim at all cost. This is why you defended Robert Spencer (and Ali Sina before him).

For Yeezevee and people like him, absolutely everything that ever happens or happened in Muslim countries or anything that was ever done by Muslim must and needs to be linked (always negatively) to Islam.

It cannot be any other way, notice how every post includes a reference to Islam?

here's an example of the method perfect by Yeezevee:

Tunisians are ruled by an authoritarian regime = This is real Islam, only authoritarian can islam make. Stupid goat and Muslims accept because Islam likes the submission

Tunisians rebel against dictator = This is real Islam, violent opposition to attempts at secularization - this is prophet Islam from long time ago

Foreigners carrying guns get beat up by a few locals protesting in the middle of a revolution = this is the real Islam, ungrateful Muslims hurting nice swedes who give them shelter, maybe they also rape swede like in sweden.

Secular ousted dictator = Islam, the real Islam from long time ago personified

Tunisians asking for democracy and pluralism = Islam wants to make the vote for Hamas and Al-Qaeda, real Islam from prophet time, here I show you youtube video of unrelated bad thing happening in other part of Muslim world to make more point about real Islam.

In a real secular country, the head scarf would not be banned, because the government would not favor non religion over religion or vise versa.

Personally I agree, but like religion, people interpret secularism differently. I don't like it when muslims say "If Saudi was a real Islamic country blah blah" and I don't think muslims would like when we say what it is true secularism and what isn't when they've been oppressed for decades by that regime.

in such a way that readers will get an idea of "fellows like yeezevee are capable of twisting anything that goes on  in Islamic world against Islam."  But that was NOT my intention in that post.  what I was trying to say is., However good a person may be, however good his/her intentions may be to start with and however good the ruler may be to start with ., Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. there is little doubt on this and it is built in to the species through  the evolutionary processes.

"Unlimited power is bound  to corrupt the minds of those who possess it" .,

Hence., whether fellows like Tunisian ruler, Libyan Ruler or 1000s of rulers in the past  are good men .. good socialists, banned veil(THAT IS STUPID THING ACTUALLY) and   pursuing secular policies or not doesn't matter.   They are bound go down as "rogue ruler" at the fag end of their rule with absolute power getting in to their heads, Unless they get killed and gets public sympathy for e.g.  Saddam Hussain. In the minds of millions of Muslims outside of Baath party he is a Martyr

Unfortunately Islam being special case of a religion that directly involves in politics and power struggle built in male domination and its hierarchical nature with "Allah selected me to rule" in the minds of a ruler,  it generates such power hungry characters. And it is there throughput Islamic history.

That is what I meant in those words,  But you twisted them in a funny way that does sound right not only w.r.t. yeezevee posts but in fact     "Islam" itself.  To explain that in detail., I have to write a loooooong post to you ., in time i will explain you..

Swiss lawyer seeks freeze on any Ben Ali assets  says news

A Swiss lawyer on Monday filed a legal request to freeze any assets held by Tunisia's ousted president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in Switzerland amid political pressure for a government freeze.

    Quote
Ridha Ajmi told AFP he had also asked for international arrest warrants against Mr Ben Ali, his wife Leila Trabelsi and former interior minister Rafik Bel Hadji Kacem, claiming they had been involved in ordering police to open fire on protesters.

The move came after the Swiss Socialist Party said in a statement on Sunday that it would ask the government to freeze any Ben Ali accounts during a parliamentary foreign affairs commission meeting early this week.

A government spokesman told AFP that it was keeping watch on the situation and that "no decision has been taken on this matter."

Mr Ajmi, who is of Tunisian origin, said following a report on Swiss radio RSR that he was acting on behalf of about 30 people.

"We are asking for a criminal inquiry to determine whether or not funds that belong to the Tunisian people have been diverted ... to private accounts or companies."

This is one FUCKING country on the face of earth that buggers from all over third world rule the people,  rob their people and put the  money  in the banks of this country.  International money laundering and tax evasion to the countries they come from  in these banks is  so outrageous,  some time i feel like eliminating it from the face of the earth.  It needs banking reforms so NO bugger store the money in these banks without limit.   5 billion dollars for a little country like Tunisia  is a lot of money..

Tunisia: Blogger and Former Political Prisoner Appointed Minister   says news

    Quote
The Tunisian revolution seems to bring an endless daily dose of surprises. Yesterday, the Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, announced the formation of a interim unity government. The transitional government will include members of the opposition but also figures of the old regime. Some key portfolios remain in the hands of ministers who served under ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, including Foreign Affairs, the Interior, Defense and Finance. But perhaps the biggest surprise, especially for netizens, was the announcement of Slim Amamou, blogger, activist and Global Voices contributor, as Secretary of State for Sports and Youth Affairs

interesting move.. that is NOT good enough sir.. Go for elections  as soon as possible..

    Qaradawi hails Tunisian people

Noted Islamic scholar Yusuf Al Qaradawi said he could name three to four countries where people were suffering from starvation and their governments were stealing their wealth. In remarks that could possibly unnerve some Arab governments, the cleric praised the people of Tunisia for the uprising.

All Muslims must fight for justice, he said, adding he did not justify the killings of innocent people in Tunis. “I can name some three to four other countries where people are starving and their rulers are stealing public wealth,” Qaradawi said.

Qaradawi also recited one couplet from the famous Tunisian romantic poet Al Shabie who said talking of political satire and people's dignity 'If people desired to live with freedom they must accept the fate since the night vanishes and the cage is broken'

He said Western countries must not interfere in Tunisia in the name of rescuing the country. Talking of France, he said Tunisians wouldn't accept their help for they know that its government is working against Muslims.

    Quote
“If France wants to help Muslims they must help us in Palestine,” said Qaradawi.

Meanwhile Rachid Ghannouchi, leader of the proscribed Ennahda political party in Tunisia, said he is ready to return to the country.

Willing to take part in forming the coalition government, Ghannouchi says Tunisia’s political arena is torn asunder by strife for power and, therefore, building the state system that would unite people into a nation is a task of many years to come.

Ennahda is an Islamic party that was outlawed in the 1990s after its members tried to stage a coup in Tunisia.

Rachid Ghannouchi is a namesake of Tunisia’s PM Mohammed Ghannouchi. The two are not related, Reuters reports.
