Thought I answered this. Turkey's economy is robust, its democracy dynamic and its future prospects quite, quite bright. Denied EU accession it will stumble on imperfectly as it formerly has with the military and the democratic government vying for power. I discern no seismic tremors.

Eastern EUROPEANS, as their name implies, are already PART of Europe MAB. Therefore their "emigrating" INTO the continent is nonsense. MAB. The million+ POLES who have emigrated to UK come from NO OTHER COUNTRY than Poland. I'll be happy to widen my definition of "Europe" to honorarily include Turkey when Islam no longer has the grip on the minds of its population that it clearly still does. I can't see that coming about any time soon.

I know it may appear that I support DH in the question of keeping Turkey out of EU. I want you to know, MaB, that nothing is further from the truth. I am on your side wholeheartedly. I say, as soon as Turkey decides to leave OIC for it's anti-semitism, being coy with descriptions of terrorism and support for curtailing criticism of pedophiles, by a referendum, the same minute I would grant them full status of an observer state and even add other serious concessions. Would it not be appreciated by our jewish friends as well? We just need to let the people speak, empower the silent majority, enough highjacking of issues by radicals like Erdogan and DH.

I listen to the Quran like I read Greek mythology, it's beautiful as an art form. Plus I think the best way to fight against something is by appropriating it and stripping its meaning. I plan on someday remixing the Quran to make good trance music.
