Why does the number of members mentioned at the foot of the Forum page always seem to go up and down? It was almost 3000 a couple of months ago - now it's 2400 something - what's going on?

600 members recently got banned.

I have been deleting a lot of old and inactive spambot accounts.

The member list is a bit funny because it doesn't count banned members, while the stats at the bottom of the main index page count all registrations that have not been deleted. I suppose you could call that a minor bug in the software, but I doubt we'll bother fixing it.

Thats not good! How can we keep showing our numbers getting up?

Easy. We keep getting real members registering.

Personally I think having a memberlist full of obvious spambot accounts is not a good look and does not add credibility, as well as being extra clutter when you want actually find someone.
