Re: What aspects of Islam/ being Muslim do you miss OR don't miss

I do miss a few things like the ability to dismiss all of my problems under a certain label of "Devil's work/conspiracy theories". I also miss how I would criticise people for doing things that the religion did not approve, in an insecure and angry manner. I think it was at the age of 15 or so that I realised that God shouldn't have to help people on petty matters because somehow I thought that only the exalted and the distressed would have their prayers heard because they would be in higher priority so I wasn't quite sure of what I saw in the concept, even whilst I was agnostic, I had no idea of what to think of that higher power.
What has changed is considerable. I'm now somewhat free to do whatever I like and I have none of those barriers which stopped me from engaging in certain conversations. I have better views about a lot of things though my views about Muslims and certain religious people have severely detiorated. I think it's to do with the harsh practices in certain religions. Nevertheless, I feel as if I can now talk with the other South Asian communities and engage in topics which I once deemed as offensive and intolerable.
