    There is this constant refrain of the need for "peace" from converts. Why not seek peace from other sources?

    I really wish we'd see more follow-up on these kinds of stories. I come across so many profiles of fresh converts but little accounts of what happens afterwards. The harsh reality that people face after the honeymoon period ends needs to be exposed.

    Doesn't the Imam now that even the mere act of shaking hands may lead to disastrous consequences,- how dare they can be so loose in upholding qanoon-e-Allah ? The most evil, vile, filthy act in , plaguing modern , supposedly "civilized", societies, the virus of zina, lack of namoos and iffat?
    WHERE THE FUCK is her headscarve? Sub7anallah, may Allah forgive her sins.. I GET ATTRACTED TO HER, my eyes commit zina too.. NOOO!

    Apart from that, to be more seriously: We all "bear witness" that emotions, and the sense of community/peace of mind led her to Islam.
    I am at peace with that,- of she feels comfortable with religion she may believe and do whatever she wants.

    It doesn't fit the narrative, especially after 9/11, of presenting Islam in as benign a light as possible.

    The problem is that the impulse to counter negative impressions of Islam formed as a result of extremism has two effects:

    (1) It tends to rely on Muslims themselves using it as an opportunity for dawah, hence this kind of news report, the recent British report on converts published to widespread mainstream media attention by an Islamic ThinkTank. This doesn't 'humanise' Muslims, it just becomes religious propaganda and prosletysation.

    (2) It ignores the extremism which causes a negative impression in the first place - rather than focussing on how the House of Islam is putting out the fire raging inside itself, it makes the focus of the narrative how the House of Islam is expanding itself demographically, as if repeating the same dawah over and over again will make everything OK.
