Ive been off tv for a few years now, find it all tends to get repetitive after a while, and instead have replaced it   with the internet.  Still find it useful for good documentaries though, but youtube is even making inroads into that now.

Shows I've watched in recent months and liked:

    - Mad Men (been putting off watching season four until a date for season five is announced)
    - Boardwalk Empire
    - In Treatment
    - 30 Rock (most hilarious show I've watched in a long while)
    - Breaking Bad

No TV for me either, I can't tell what i'll be up to  when a show is on anyways, used to be easier with friends following the same show(Lost) we'd make a night out of it. I much prefer the internet. You tube videos at highest rank in frequency.

Although once in a while , it's relaxing to park in front of the TV and be a bit random about what i watch.

Mad men is a definite winner.
oh, and i have a weird amusement for reality series. That stuff got me glued to the TV over 3 hours a day for about a month last year.
Then came Charlie Brooker this year.

I actually prefer tv to movies because of the longer more in depth story telling that is possible ( though it rarely happens) in tv.

    MST 3000
    Twilight Zone
    STTNG
    BTVS
    The Wire
    30 Rock
    Community
    Battle star Galactica new one
    Seinfeld
    The Simpsons
    Alfred Hitchcock presents
    Lost first season
    Arrested Development
    Freaks and Geeks
    Scrubs

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Later with Jools Holland, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and QI.

BBC 4's usually the channel that I watch the most, though there's nothing in particular that I follow.  Since I can't get it at the moment, the alternative is HBO and Comedy Central.

I also like catching the odd reruns of classics from Monty Python, Rowan Atkinson, Benny Hill, Dave Allen, Ronnie Barker, Stephen Fry, and others from that calibre.

I do enjoy a good chuckle. Although, when I'm really bored and depressed, snooker on BBC 2 is the one to kill time with.

is only one defense: the creative act.

Have to agree with Ishina, Columbo was king.
Derrick was not bad either - it was a German program dubbed into Afrikaans

I have been waiting for that series since 2005. And I am a huge Song of Ice Fire (book series on which Game of Thrones is based) nerd. I thought I was going to be disappointed but I wasn't. I think it'll go straight to my top 5 of best tv shows EVER.

Family Guy Seasons 1 - 4 (rest is shit, I know it, you know it, no need to fake it)
    South Park
    It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Curb Your Enthusiasm!!!!! Probably the best show ever made (except around Season 5)
Flight of the Conchords (you have to get into it. Persevere and epic lulz will be had)
The Office UK (US is also ok). How one can invent the character of David Brent is really beyond me. Stroke of genius, period.
Desperate Housewives was also really good, Season 1 is awesome, then it goes down a steady slope, but Season 5 is again great. Never finished season 6 because = lame.

For those unfamiliar with Curb, here's three of the most epic scenes imo.
