Hey, I'm 17, from India. I left Islam about a year ago. I don't really know too many ex Muslims, so I thought this would be a good start  Smiley

All ideologies are idiotic, whether religious or political, for it is conceptual thinking, the conceptual word, which has so unfortunately divided man.

    Parrot? :p

Hey Smiley Its difficult to point one thing actually, it ranges from misogyny to savagery. Not forgetting the contradictions and flaws in Allah's 'perfect' book. Anyone with average intelligence could see them and I'm surprised 1.5 billion people (or less) still agree with it

So every new comer gets a parrot? xD

Well, to summarize, I'm surprised at the hatred Islam shows towards women, saying we're deficient in almost every aspect, allowing our male kin to 'own' us, like we're property, you get me don't you? Moving on to its savagery, flogging, amputation of the hands of thieves and stuff like that. Contradictions: the earth is flat (?) the sperm comes from the back bone? :/

Its hard to believe a perfect god would make such errors, that he would allow his perfect book, that he vowed to protect, be open to so many interpretations and lose its meaning in the process, don't you think?

You're right, very few people bother to read the Quran in a language they understand. I saw a video of a man saying how beautiful the Quran was and how it changed his life and then he says hopefully he'd read it in a language he understood one day, haha.

I've written about my apostasy earlier Smiley read : http://making1choice.blogspot.com/

    yep yep

And yea i know what you mean i have been down that road it was a mental tourter. I am acctuly a strong advocate for women rights at this age i try my best to spread awereness on the subject. though its funny that many women wouldn't rather accept it e.g  my  cousin and my mother. When ever i told them quran aloud for a husband to beat women they would just ignore me. I even qouted the verse for them but they ignored me sigh. And yes if i were god and had to write a book i would make sure that i wouldn't write in arbaic which can be interprated for so many meanings. And funny thing is i am told that quran is quite simple to understand and yet when i aruge against it people tell me . "we don't have the knowledg talk to a scholar"

And looking at your blog now.

Its difficult accepting it I guess. I mean, you've been taught that THIS is the truth and THIS is what you have to follow since you developed the ability to understand anything and when you realize it isn't the truth and isn't what you would like to follow, it feels like everything is falling apart.

Yes i think  almost everyone here knows that "falling apart" feeling. But for me it only lasted for 10 mins after that i felt free.

I just chekced out your blog and your a brave girl. I know many girls here who would like to chase there dreams but they think its worthless and pleasing there parents and allah is much important.

    Wow, this must be tough!

    Quote
When my mother learnt I was an atheist, that I denied her beloved god and his prophet, denied everything she taught me about her perfect religion, the one and only accepted by god almighty, she threatened to kill me. I've been pretending ever since. I have so much to say, so much that I think about and I've been keeping it to myself until now.

    Why am I blogging?
I don't really know. I guess there is a lot I want to discuss, a lot I want to share and a lot I want to express.

I try to be the normal religious Muslim kid I used to be. I wear the hijab, I pray, fast and greet every Muslim I know with a smile and a salaam. But I don't want to do it anymore. It disgusts me, being a part, or even pretending to be, of the most vile cult you would come across in my opinion.

Filicide. Nice one. Mohammad will be happy that a woman proves her devotion to him by threatening to kill her daughter.

Still, remember, the biggest crime is shirk. Murdering your own daughter isn't as big a sin as that.

(should I feel pity for a woman who has been groomed to lose her humanity so swiftly when it comes down to this? She is a victim of Islam's dark indoctrinations too, surely?)

Thats one of the things that struck me about the Quran & Islam from early on.

Its constant exaggeration & clingy desperate attempts at self-importance, made it clear to me that it had not in fact been written by man, but more likely a petulant child.
