    oh, and I DO abhore all the right wing extremists here in the states,
    but when I was an American muslimah, I experienced alot of prejudice
    from other muslims, because..... I WAS AMERICAN! of all things lol.

    The segragation was very disheartening, and mistrust was in many
    of their eyes.  Cry  Also, there is very little integration within societies here
    because unless forced to, (i.e. work) muslims have little to nothing to do
    with anyone else but themselves in their communities. THEY segragate THEMSELVES.
    It also is disheartening when the very country that embraced them to come as legal
    aliens, even citizens, burn and spit on the American flag.  Call me a nationalist, but
    THAT does piss me off.

    what i don't get is that non of those steps are symbolic until the very end.  Admonishing, refusing to sleep in the same bed, these are practical non symbolic actions to correct the woman.  Thenthe last step that would seem violent turns into a symbolic act.  why? Either way the symbolism itself is worrying.  On the abstract level it is " showing displeasure of a woman's actions", but on the physical level it is symbolize hitting someone.  It's like raising my pimp hand to a woman and saying, " baby all I am doing is symbolizing my displeasure,no harm intended."
    So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

    So lets make this clear! in Islam men are there to regulate the life of the women...so ofcourse this being the case women are obviously not free. The women can't do nothing without a male consent. And if a man does something wrong, then, who cares?

    So the Perfect God that Islam claims also, ask his men peers to tell the women what to do and take advantage of them in many ways. And he comands to beat the wifes as a last resort for her lack of obedience or what ever. If there is a God, in which case he should be above everything, then I don't think, that first, he would be a shauvinist male (cos he created women same as he created men), second he would be open minded enough, as you know!?, he is "God", to make equal rights, he would considerate our opinions and feelings, and women feelings and her utlimate protection as she is weaker in streght than a man, opinions and our commodity and at last he wouldn't even "jocke" about beating a wife.

    So well, I don't know exactly what you've got to say about this but I wouldnt like you to reply back, if you do, with a whole article, with a full history and quotations from traditions from the time of the flintstone, and look for all the excuses in the world to support tha fakeness

    Well I was going to say a list on how to put out a fire doesn't go get a hose,spray water, and if that doesn't work tap it with a stick to show your displeasure to put it out, but the pimp hand seemed apt.

    You ought to start a debate thread in the one-on-one section, you and Hassan. Others can only watch from the sidelines and are forbidden to post.     it wasnt tag team,i think this brother was a bit mistaken,he was telling me that men have more wives only because of war and other things,and i showed him this hadith to show him  that actually allah also care about other things like if man is satisfied and also so wife isnt push to have sex too much than she can handle(because its divide between all 4 wives).this te message i sent:


    brother those reasons are true,but surely the fact that men have a higher sex drive is also taken into consideration there as long as a man can provide for them?for example this is a hadith about the holy prophet pbuh:
    Narrated Qatada:
    Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas, "Had the Prophet the strength for it?" Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)."

    alsadeem, my girlfriend has a higher sex drive than me. You know, my peak was 10 years ago, hers is now, etc etc. I'm taking vitamins and all, but sometimes I just feel like spending time on the forum instead. If we revert to al-Islam, I wonder if a fatwa or something could be issued regarding the special circumstances so that she could have two husbands? This seems to be against the Qur'aan, but you said that sex drive was considered by Allah in making the rules. So I'm just confused. What should we do?
