  • Stupid, Selfish Humanity.
     OP - March 27, 2011, 11:09 PM

Sometimes I hate people's stupidity and selfishness - and yet I love them and cry for them. But if this is the "AhsaniTaqweem" The best of Creation - then frankly I am not terribly impressed.

I AM impressed, though. The difference intellectually speaking between humans and (other) animals is far too big and forms great evidence for a Creator, honestly speaking.

I shouldn't be here. Really. Shaytan SWT deluded ALL of us. Amen.

True. Though if one considers the effort and ingenuity that it took to create and evolve this vast universe and all the creatures in it - is man the best creature such an all-powerful being come up with?

We wouldn't be able to distinguish good from bad if everything would be OK. Like we always say: Good can't exist without bad. Warmth cannot exist without coldness. etc.
The question whether God could've done a better job is unanswerable: We have nothing to compare with. However, the mere fact that there are creatures who are capable of THINKING about such questions does show how advanced we are..

I shouldn't be here. Really. Shaytan SWT deluded ALL of us. Amen.

Yet I for one can think and imagine and wish to aspire for something better than the human race I see around me who seem, petty, selfish, delusional, limited, etc...

Couldn't a God better than me have a greater imagination, purpose and ultimate goal.

The only one we have presented to us seems to involve a great deal of praising how great he is - and a sever punishment for those who don't - which sounds suspiciously like an example of a human ego - and a not very good example at that!

I'm sure we could be better cuz our base psychology is still relatable to animals if we were the best we would be diff than animals and have a more sophisticated social system, kinship bonds, better systems to motivate us to be productive for society and many other similar reasons.

Man accepted the gift of free-will, and God called him foolish for accepting it, because this gift comes with heavy responsibilities, even the mighty heavens wouldn't carry it.

What are you talking about, debunker? I never had this conversation with any god, I accept nothing!

    Hassan,

I've pointed out to debunker elsewhere (don't think he replied) that we judge creator by it's creation. Good furniture - good carpenter, bad furniture - bad carpenter. Thus, imperfect "creation" (i.e.: us) points to imperfect Allah, if you want to operate in that paradigm.

I thought hassan was referring to the Quranic God (i even highlighted the relevant part in his post that alludes to this).

There are other God's besides Allah.

I would credit Humanity's seflishness and stupidity to humanity itself.  We are responsible for our actions and our imperfections and limitations  come from us. But if we were "created" intelligently, then I suppose our creator must be a bit of a practical joker, or a baby god of some sort.

I am God, also my own Prophet. I do what I please. I rather suffer and be free than be a slave of some unknown divinity.

Yeah, of course I am including the God of the Koran. You said that man accepted the "gift" of free will from Him. I'll have you know I did no such thing (i.e. accept anything from Allah). Nor did I have any representatives sent to the Creator of universe. So what are you talking about? Assuming there was such a man long time ago - what does it have to do with me?

    Did you reply? I'll check.

Yeah, i know, neither did I (or so I think)... but the Quran does imply that we all had a pre-existence, but still what does this mean exactly? No one knows.

You are more of a mystic than myself. You win. Tell me all about the pre-existence. So Platonic, it may confirm my suspicions.
Anyway, did you read the link I gave you earlier? It's a bit Muslim unfriendly - so I apologize in advance if you hadn't done it yet.

I was referring to the verse where God says we confessed that He is our Lord (even before we were born into this life).

What exactly is free will supposed to be? I can only conceive of things being caused or chanced, and neither is 'free-will'. What does it mean?

I knew you were going to say this, but it's the same problem with a different name. What exactly does it mean to choose? Either you do something because of xyz, in which case your action is determined, or it's just random. What else is there?
