    This thread assumes that the religion we know as "Islam" actually originates from Mohammed.
    In reality, Islam itself seems to tell us that Mohammed did not really write any book.

    So the cool part would be if you go back in time and maybe find out that he was really a nice and chilled peace-loving hippie and the bulk of such crappy religion was all made up by his companions who exploited his charisma to start a new religion / political movement.
    Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

    That would apply more to Jesus and to christianity. Mohammed, by all accounts, was less cooler... and much more controlling and accountable for the future destiny of his religion.

    Allah protected Muhammad? really? then why did men need to die for him to be protected...

    Muhammad didnt get killed not because allah was helping him (since he doesnt exist) but because muslims were so brainwashed that they were willing to die for him just like today people are willing to die for their ideology even if the ideology is wrong (al-qaeda)

    read this hadith, it proves it. Muhammad is so desperate that he offers paradise for anyone who dies for him and he himself hides behind them like a coward that he was..




    It has been reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that (when the enemy got the upper hand) on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was left with only seven men from the Ansar and two men from the Quraish. When the enemy advanced towards him and overwhelmed him, he said: Whoso turns them away from us will attain Paradise or will be my Companion in Paradise.  A man from the Ansar came forward and fought (the enemy) until he was killed.  The enemy advanced and overwhelmed him again and he repeated the words: Whoso turns them away, from us will attain Paradise or will be my Companion in Paradise.  A man from the Ansar came forward and fought until he was killed.  This state continued until the seven Ansar were killed (one after the other). Muslim 19:4413)

    Seriously though, I think an equally stupid religion/cult-to-end-all-cults would have popped up in its place. Muhammad just got there first. Pointless exercise.

    I would put some hardcore peaceful stuff in the Koran. Quite nice stuff that would make the Mount Sermon "violent".

    And i would travel couple of hundred years later and kick Bukhari and Muslims ass and give them amnesia. So they dont write the hadith.

    Here is what might happen: You would spend years inventing a time machine, then you would spend more years learning Classical Arabic, then you become an expert in poisons, then you would study the natural landmarks around Mecca and Medina so that you could locate the place when you got back in time.

    Then when you finally go back to the Hejaz in the 620s AD, you start looking for Mecca and the Zam Zam Well but they are simply not there, just an empty desert and you start asking the local tribes where you can find Muhammad the Prophet and they have no idea what you're talking about. Then you realize that you were duped into believing the same silly stories as Muslims. It becomes obvious to you that the Muhammad character emerged out of legends in the subsequent century, or if he did exist, he existed in some other corner of the desert in some other decade. All of your carefully laid out plans of assassinating Muhammad were wasted because you believed too literally in the traditional narrative. You're mission is an epic failure!  Tongue

    Nah, I'm too nice for that. I would travel back in time when he just became a prophet, and take him to 2013 and see how hes going to sell the religion here.

    If you could go back in time and kill Muhammad (assuming he was the founder of Islam) would you?

    I definitely would.   

    I mean imagine all the people who's live would be saved if Islam didn't exist. And the fact that we wouldn't have to suffer pretending to be muslim if Islam didn't exist.

    But anyway. The arabs back then were kind of messed up too. I think he was kind of the lesser evil back then when compared to what the arabs were doing.

    Nah. I'd rather not meddle with the past at all, since it's impossible to predict the effects it will have on the future. Just because Mo was a huge asshole does not mean the world would have been better off without him.

    I would not take the traditional Muslim account of the Pagan Arabs too literally. It is supposed to be a tale of good against evil. A totalitizing account designed to entertain and inspire awe in the listeners. But even by Muslim's own stories, the Pagan Arabs do not come out as much worse than the Muslims, which just goes to show how much morals can change over the centuries.

    I wouldn’t kill him either. I would travel back in time with all sorts of modern marvels and counter his claims of prophethood. I’d then challenge him to a battle rap session and vanquish his weak Qur’anic verses with my own wahhy.

    Once I had all the followers on my side, I’d let them know that no god exists and that religion was all BS. I’d show them just how far humanity leapt once we started to embrace secular principles. Makkah would be the world’s first liberal democracy.   dance
