I love this.  Cuban rhythms are right up my alley.

Don't rock the zimmer too hard, gran. Tongue

Been listening to TATW350 this weekend (all 7 hours) and it's put me in the mood for vocal trance. Marek Hemmann's rmx of Oliver Koletzki's Arrow and Bow feat Fran is a slow builder but so addictive.

    Refrain:
    We're all living in America,
    America is wunderbar.
    We're all living in America,
    Amerika, Amerika.

When I'm dancing, I want to lead,
even if you all are spinning alone,
    let's exercise a little control.
I'll show you how it's done right.
We form a nice round (circle),
freedom is playing on all the fiddles,
music is coming out of the White House,
and near Paris stands Mickey Mouse.

    We're all living in America...

I know steps that are very useful,
and I'll protect you from missteps,
and anyone who doesn't want to dance in the end,
just doesn't know that he has to dance!
We form a nice round (circle),
I'll show you the right direction,
    to Africa goes Santa Claus,
and near Paris stands Mickey Mouse.

    We're all living in America,
    America is wunderbar.
    We're all living in America,
    Amerika, Amerika.
    We're all living in America,
    Coca-Cola, Wonderbra,
    We're all living in America,
    Amerika, Amerika.

This is not a love song,
this is not a love song.
I don't sing my mother tongue,
No, this is not a love song.

    We're all living in America,
    Amerika is wunderbar.
    We're all living in America,
    Amerika, Amerika.
    We're all living in America,
    Coca-Cola, sometimes WAR,
    We're all living in America,
    Amerika, Amerika.

One of my favourite dubstep remixes, Burial works his magic on Jamie Woon's Wayfaring Stranger adding his trademark atmosphere to an already excellent tune.

Completely different genre (acoustic guitar in the following example), but Jamie deserves mention in his own right as a rising soulful vocalist coming out of London.

    Nice one.

I think the new experimental wave of musicians like Burial, Mount Kimbie, James Blake and Actress, who are going beyond dubstep or any one genre, is a breath of fresh air that UK music desperately needs.  Even Americans are being inspired by (and simultaneously inspiring) this music, like Teebs, Daedalus and the rest of FlyLo's Brainfeeder crew who are doing some lovely experimentation.

This is the song I heard, it was december 1984, and I was on that
small site in the middle of nowhere waiting on my bus to take me
to the airport, to take me home.  My year there was over.  Within
a few seconds, I busted into tears   Cry  I cried all the way on the plane
until I got to san francisco, then passed out .
