    How the fuck is Bill Mahr a "closet" Jew? He openly Jewish and openly pro-Israel. However, I respect him as he does allow people on his show that criticize Israel and support the Palestinians, which is more than you can say for the vast majority of the mainstream media in this country. Mahr is all about open and honest dialogue on issues, even when you disagree with him strongly. And, yeah, I've seen the video you're talking about.     You are neither wrong nor right because I don't accept the black and white terms in which you framed the question. One can remain a principled secularist without attacking absolutely all aspects and forms of religion. For example, in my country, I would regard standing against hard-right reactionary churches like the Southern Baptist Convention a duty of progressive secularists, but I would regard standing against a socially progressive and inclusive church like the United Church of Christ, which supports secular values (but frames them in religious terms), to be counterproductive. Similarly there are Jewish congregations that support the rights of the Palestinians-- it would be kinda dumb for me to oppose them, wouldn't it?

    His use of the word Holohoax was in the context of a hypothetical scenario - ie, what would happen if I advertised the Holocaust as the Holohoax?  His use of closet Jew is not hypothetical, he actually does seem to think that Bill Maher and others are closet Jews, working towards some sinister agenda of their own.

    I agree that his criticism of Islam is valid. The problem with this valid criticism is twofold.

    First, it unavoidably casts negative light on all Muslims which easily turns into bigotry, for wether we like it or not humanity is made up of countless idiots and "trousered apes" to plagiarize the bison.  

    Second, majority of "natural" supporters of people criticizing Islam, no matter how objectively or constructively, are bigoted idiots. E.g.: I opened a fake Facebook account not long ago proclaiming my Ex-muslimosity. (It is fake in as much as I did not give my real name.) Now I have over 30 friends in common with Anowarul Kabir, known in the forum as armanduck. I kept confirming strange peoples requests for "friendship" (never seeking any) and I would guess that 90% of them are Obama hating, zealous christian American Islamophobes. I intend to unfriend all such people eventually, but then I suspect I will have 3 or 4 friends on the account.

    I don't know too much about Spencer, I never have heard him say anything clearly bigoted, and his criticism of Islam always seems sound. What is his hidden agenda or real feelings towards Muslims I may never know, but if I'm right in believing that popularity is his goal, he simply can not afford to loose all the bigots who currently worship him. If Fox News is the only outlet to give him a platform, shall he refuse and let his children starve?

    I agree with your interpretation of facts. I'm not advocating any sanctions here either. I still think that comparison between "seeking asylum from Islam" and "Holohoax" is disturbing.
