Again, a situation i can never really relate to.

But welcome... have a parrot  parrot

alsaeedm, are you calling me shaitan? Because if thats the case, i have to tell you, i dont like that. Sure, i am redskinned and got horns... and i occasionaly go shopping with a pitchfork, just for the kicks...

But that doesnt give you the right to call me shaitan!  finmad

And i eat babys for breakfast... because thats what we atheists like to do right after sleeping with our neighbors wife.

So streetrayDio, you see, were all perfectly normal and social people. dance

On a more serious note, morality doesnt come from a holy book, it comes from the society we grow up in. It is taught to us that way. We pick it up while we grow up, like we learn languages or other stuff.

    welcome streetray.

a word of advice, just don't read any post by yeezevee (none of it makes any sense whatsoever... he's a spammer who takes his spamming seriously). As for alsaeed, he's a 15 years old Salafi (or Kharjite?) kid... you can play with him if you want, but never take him seriously.

About religulous, yeah, its more of a comical movie, would definitely NOT convert anyone whatsoever. But I would recommend you to learn about history of the religions from sources other then from Islam.

Bible Unearthed is a very good documentary, which collected archaeological evidences to construct history behind all three religions. Fortunately it is on youtube now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=959OCN1Q8b4

Also I would recommend you to question yourself where did Quran come from? If it is indeed written by Allah, what is the proof that it was, and wasn't written by Mohammad himself plagiarizing stories from Judaism, Christianity, Arab Pagans, Zoroastrianism and ancient Greek science along with its flaws. You will find your answer. Take your time on all this. It took me many months to my actual apostasy.

haha yeah. I think he was always a bit crazy but it got out of hand when he was forced into exile. I read soul on ice so naturally I had nothing but respect for the man but have yet to read soul on fire but I'll make a note to do so before too long. Tongue

    Hi and welcome streetrayDio!

my grandma also discouraged my mom from wearing the hijab when she chose to do so. LOL

Do you happen to know why your grandma was discouraging your mum from wearing hijab?

I think it was just because it was incongruous with the culture

I dunno-- a serial rapist who termed his rape of white women an "insurrectionary act" and who later became a Mormon and conservative Republican activist? I sometimes wonder if he was a COINTELPRO plant.

Since you briefly took exception to my avatar, may I suggest a cooler Panther as yours, like Hampton or Newton or Seale or Jackson? Smiley

It was a misunderstanding actually. He wasn't familiar with the FMLN and thought it was a satire of the EZLN. Not a big deal.

Because belief isn't a direct choice. Do you think we can just choose to believe in Allah if we wished?

Eternal torture? Does that sound reasonable? Rational?

Why not just kill them? (if they really are so bad)

Why keep them alive to just torture them?

It never ceases to amaze me how Muslims/Christians can't see the glaring contradiction:

Most Merciful of all who show Mercy + Tortures billions of his creatures eternally.

I think it comes down to faith, at the core of it all. I think that it comes down to an inherent belief in God

There was hadith where Muhammed visited his mother's grave and cried for her because she was gonna burn forever , seriously you would have to be sick to listen to Allah if was going to do that .
