     OP - April 13, 2011, 12:26 AM

Okay, so I got this time machine. I've arranged with your employer or school paid time off for up to a month. You can go back for only one purpose-- to hang in the music scene of your choice for a month. I will provide time-appropriate clothing and spending money, and assume I was able to also acquire lodging for you in the past. You must establish your own social contacts while there, and nothing you do can change the present you return to.

Please pick a year, place and scene.

And of course post some videos of the music scene

Mine: 1977, New York City, punk/new wave scene

So many good bands then, but I'll post 3 of the more known ones...

    Blondie

    Ramones

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6GAGdBiJF0

    Talking Heads

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Smge23DCE8

Dems da rules, please play along....

    fuck you

I only want to go back for one night.  I want to go back to 1968 and be at Johny Cash's concert in Folsom prison.    dance

Okay, you broke the rules, but it was cool enough to where all is forgiven.  grin12 Well, go ahead and post Cocaine Blues or somethin from that concert-- you aren't excused from that part of the guidelines.

    fuck you

No brainer. If money is provided I'd go apeshit at Ibiza in the late 90's. Will find vids later and edit them in. parrot

Can I be your plus 1?   dance

Actually, I would be happy to just be taken back to the 90's rave scene in the UK, those were some good times I would kill to repeat.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I wish I had something to contribute to this thread, my music history knowledge is shockingly lacking...

Maybe the Pulse concert by Pink Floyd in the early 90s?

Easy. April 1st 2010, Turku, Finland, Isole and Pagan Altar. I'd give anything to relive that night.

Did Pagan Altar sacrifice a virgin and eat her raw heart that night?

1975-76, Motown's Hitsville West studios, Los Angeles.

At any given day you'd find Stevie working on Songs in the Key of Life in one room, Marvin and Leon Ware on I Want You next door, Smokey Robinson producing just about everyone, Temptations, Eddie and Ruffin going solo, Diana Ross going disco, and Teena Marie being signed on to the label.
